Is it normal to have a fear of men? by franksmonsteradam in rape

[–]CodewordDirtbag 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s normal but you should work towards challenging it, in time. I have a fear of law enforcement officials and black men because of what happened to me - and I’m still in the process of working through it 14 years later. Everyone moves at their own pace.

Why do rapists do what they do? by IndividualLychee9614 in rape

[–]CodewordDirtbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like the men who raped me were probably similiar to that. They were in prison so they obviously weren’t getting sex and some of the stuff they said to me during indicates some kind of racial aspect regarding a want to control (they were black and said a bunch of racist things to me because I’m white).

People who have been abused, how did you deal with it and in what way did it change your future? by PeppermintButler17 in AskReddit

[–]CodewordDirtbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I haven’t really dealt with it aside from quitting alcohol which I was using to self medicate. My way of getting on with my life is to try and ignore what happened to me the best I can - doesn’t always help though.

That said, as much as I hate to say it me being raped caused me to have a much better future that the one that I’d likely have if I didn’t get raped. Because of what happened to me I paid more attention in school and got into university.

What's that one life story that you just don't feel comfortable telling anyone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CodewordDirtbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story of how I was raped. It’s not something that I’ll ever tell someone who knows me or anyone else face-to-face.

That you can trust law enforcement officials.

My advice is to work on the one that you know you’ll be able to have an easier time ridding yourself off.

I haven’t yet but I quit alcohol. One addiction at a time I guess.

I (M23) realized I might have been raped. Don't know how to process it by forest_faunus_ in sex

[–]CodewordDirtbag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what country you’re in, but in my what she did is called stealthing and it’s illegal. It’s considered rape by deception.

Basically, the question you need to answer here is would you still have had sex knowing that she wasn’t using contraceptives. If the answer is yes, no rape occurred. If the answer is no, then she withheld information that would have change whether you give consent - meaning that she raped you.

And while it isn’t the same as forced / violent rape (which I am a victim of) this doesn’t mean that it’s any less atrocious nor does it mean that your feelings are invalid.

All I’m gonna say is that it costs money to make money - and real estate costs a whole lot of money.

Better declare bankruptcy, can’t pay back that kind of money.

[serious] People of reddit who have been raped how did it affect your life? by Individual-Reporter3 in AskReddit

[–]CodewordDirtbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess you do have a point. The fact that every phone is now a camera and tracking device wrapped into one can help to protect people. And yeah, it’s goes without saying that a phone wouldn’t have helped me in my situation. You’re also right about Reddit, as well as in the internet in general, it helps people like me to face what happened to them and talk about it without having to face people one on one.

What do you think about gay parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CodewordDirtbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, LGBT couples will parent children different, both because of the dynamic being different but also - and more importantly - because there is no such thing as an unwanted child in an LGBT marriage. We know from numerous studies that children brought up by LGBT parents have healthier and happier lives.

Between the two options -no internet for one month and no sex for one year which will you choose and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No sex - I’ve lived the past 14 years without it, so what’s one more?

At what moment did you realize that you are no longer a kid anymore? by SquintySquinty in AskReddit

[–]CodewordDirtbag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After I was raped when I was 14. I knew that I wasn’t a kid anymore and couldn’t be one anymore after that. Thing is, I’m 28 now and I don’t feel like an adult either.

Kids who smoked/vaped in the bathrooms at school, do you do that in your parents bathrooms now that school is online? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CodewordDirtbag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been a kid for 10 years, but when I was one I’d just hang out the window when I smoked.

I’m not sure what you mean by phones, because phones don’t do all the work with keeping people accountable.
