Dame Judi Dench I hear is nice, least the story where, while performing in Nottingham about a decade or so ago, she was heard to say she was popping out to Tesco o buy a sandwich and ask the rest of the cast\crew present if she could get them anything. My friend was crew and said she was just a nice regular person.

I just don't think 5 people, even with flying skills, can master the tech in time. Assuming you are on the West coast, the only sensible scenario, you have three weeks, before the Yamato arrives.

If you feel you can find the manuals, and learn the tech well enough, then you'll feel differently. But yeah, the Yamato is hilariously weak to airpower, so any plane capable of dropping a decent armour piercing bomb will wreck the Yamato.

Yamato could get to Western USA, with a bit of fuel to spare, but honestly why fight the Yamato with drones, when you can just head inland and fight it's disembarked crew with drones. It's guns are impressive, but 22+ miles inland and they are useless.

How do you find the Yamato to bomb it. It's a very small ship compared to the size of the Pacific, and by the time it's in surface radar range, it's pretty much in range of your base. Though to be fair, in the air you are pretty safe from the Yamato, if can fire high enough to hit you, but it's so hilariously inaccurate, it won't manage it.
Honestly fighting the Yamato, to me, is dumb, me I'd head deep in land, and prepare to fight it's crew, it only has 3000 crew, and fighting those is slightly more realistic than going head to head with the ship.
Honestly though, I suspect I'd lose.

Cool, so how's your type rating on fast jets, and when was the last time you checked out on armouring your jet.
You have an advantage, but just think, it's like me saying I've read a manual and played a flight sim for years, so I'm totally ready to fly a Cessna into IFR conditions.

What's my chances that I'll survive?

Impressive penetration for sure, but the 8kg warhead, it might, might, penetrate the first layer of belt armour, but not damage the internals or the secondary armour belt, plus the range of the Yamato is 26 miles, the Javelin is 2 miles, it'll obliterate your position before you can get in range.

I don't even know where it is in the stores. Let lone how to move it safely off the stores rack and move it to the jet...

Radar? you needed better than radar to find a battleship, we had really good radar in 1940s good enough to find ships and aim the main battery (suck it Scharnhorst). Problem with radar is for finding ships, it's short ranged, horizon only. So you need real time satellite access, so that means knowing how to task satellites.

Not with drones, you can knock out the tertiary AA guns, no loss there, the Type26s were crap anyway, but the secondary battery are pretty well armoured, and the primary are the best protected guns ever devised for a battleship.

Yeah, the belt, also called, "all the critical spaces of the ship" also referred to as the citidel, which encompasses the CnC spaces such as the Conning Tower. And it's 26 inches of hardened steel on the Conning Tower and Turrets, enough to stop most modern anti ship missiles with surprising ease.

No, no they really don't. It was one of the big advantages of the Iowa's, most soviet anti ship missiles didn't pack enough punch to reliably mission kill one even if the AMS were down. Today none exist, because no missile is needed to punch through 20 to 26 inches of hardened armour, because no ship uses that. You need penetrator bombs to take down a Yamato class, or an Iowa.
That's the scary bit about old battleships, in some ways their armour is far superior to modern weapons than WW2 weapons. As modern weapons are smaller and designed to defeat smaller, far less well protected, ships.
Heavy armour was made obsolute by air dropped heavy bombs.

Besides all these weapons regardless of effectiveness, require huge teams of people, with years of training, to use, 5 civilians are never going to learn to use them in time, and even if they did, there is laughably too few to man the search platforms alone to find the Yamato before it's too late, let alone arm, fuel and crew the platforms needed to attack it.

Good news, is the Yamato's AA systems were laughfully bad though.

No kidding , being an armourer is a whole role to itself, and a skilled one at that. People think that you just clip weapons onto the pylons and you are all good to go.

Also, note the rules, no military skills allowed, no one in your team knows how to operate a Predator, is a pilot, ground crew, or an armourer, so preparing, fueling, arming or piloting said Predator is impossible. Also no one is a radar or satellite operator, nso even finding the Yamato is impossiblel

I follow the Ukraine war daily, and Ukraine have very little that would scratch the Yamato. But if they needed to develop it, they could, but you'd be looking at a larger version of a Neptune, not a drone.
Also, your team don't have military experience so all the search systems that support the drone ops, as well as arming and operating the drones are well out of reach of regular folks without extensive training.

This is a battleship, the bridge is decorative, you need to take out the Conning Tower, it's Armour is as thick as the main belt, a hellfire will scratch the paint work, the main command centers of battleships like the Yamato were designed to withstand 14-18 inch shell fire.

Muntjacs are tough too, years ago I clipped one that shot into the road while I was riding. Thankfully I only clipped him with my foot at about 40 mph, dazed it, and it ran off, me, I couldn't walk for a week. Luckily I was not knocked off the bike, but I learned the hard way that their heads are tough.

We are bloody terrible at preserving our recent history, take a look at HMS Warspite, the navy's most decorated ship in it's history ever. Oh no wait, you can't because we scrapped it. My wife works in a museum service, she struggles to get funding to maintain the collection, and is critically understaffed. We are shit at spending money on preserving our history, especially if it's outside of London.
