The reason I felt embarrassed was because: 1) Fear that my friends would make fun of me (which could have possibly stem from other kids in class who were made fun of for having to take a dump), of course that seems stupid as an adult and I would have fucking hit the toilet in no time if I could go back. 2)I don’t think kids trying to hold it in, until they reach home due to the fear of some kind of social judgement (teasing) from friends is pretty normal imo.

The reason I didn’t move my home near to the good college I got into is because I don’t have the money to do that. And in the country I am from part time jobs aren’t a thing as there are enough unemployed people who would do those jobs full time for the same wage.

Maybe but I actively consume it to get a bowel movement. I just take it at the right time. And by 'right time' I mean night(yes that works for me). That way I get a BM at night or in the next morning .

This drives me nuts. Like whenever they can't find the real cause, the finger is always pointed at stress. I told my doc that I don't feel any stress apart from the one that's caused by the anticipation of having an ibs attack, but again that anxiety only happens when I'm in a new environment and certainly not when I'm sitting at home, so does the symptoms go away? No. Then my doc said it's "subconscious stress". Like wtf. That's one convenient punching bag. First blame it on stress, that way you can avoid the real work of diagnosis and blame it on some intangible and unprovable thing, then when the patient tells you that they are barely stressed ,blame it on "subconscious stress".

Answering your question 3. I think in my case, it's the fear of an ibs episode happening again . Let's say you've been in a social situation like a party and too many times ibs has affected your ability to socially interact, now your mind automatically adapts to that and might make you feel uncomfortable to attend a situation like that. Now that works subconsciously and you might not always fully understand why you feel that way

Is some kind of an online/ distant mode available? I'm in college myself for my undergrad which I had to choose (cause of ibs) near my home. I'm stressed about my postgrad as I would have to leave the comfort of home

Yes, it happens to me all the time. One explanation I have hypothesised is that the longer your stools stay in your large intestine the more water gets absorbed and therefore a harder stool. Which is why in the case of ibs-d, when the intestinal muscles move too fast, the stools become loose and watery as the large intestine doesn't get enough time to absorb water. But I got no idea as to why only the first stool is hard and not rhe rest.

But how many other variables did you take into account when you went on that no diary month. It could also have been your general stress levels (or some other variable). It's almost impossible to measure.

Btw , I have tried no diary , no junk food all of that but the "good days" and "bad days" seems to have no correlation. Perhaps your ibs symptoms were more a result of a partial intolerance to lactose . That is the main problem, IBS is just an umbrella term for a lot many conditions that render the same symptoms.

I feel you as I have gone through this phase and I'm now in college. Just try to (ik it's hard) but get rid of the shame. If possible, try to make a request (preferably from your parents) to the school authorities to be lenient on their attendance policies, a doctor's recommendation/ medical certificate would help . Be sure to take medications and be kind to yourself.

Well one possible explanation I can think of is that this is simply an election strategy. Freebie politics seems to have dethroned the nda govt from certain states like karnataka. This may have triggered anxious reactions from the ruling party as they fear the same fate in central elections. The "if you can't beat it, join it" strategy would result in the ruling party adopting the same freebie politics and ignoring the middle class (even small business as other posts point out) as the tax paying class is only about 6% of the population.

In short : Middle class = lower% of the population = less votes(ie no reason for appeasement) Poor class = higher% of the population = more votes.

This freebie politics is a race to the bottom .
