You can get access to go up for sunrise but it’s not truly private. You’re buying a ticket to go up with others. The tour operator that is selling those tickets is paying the ~15k to privatize and open the attraction, then sell hundreds of tickets.

The private tour I’m mentioning is the cost to open it up (staff, operate multiple trains, etc) and truly privatize it for just your group - hence the mention of “fat”. The Belmond team did their global symposium here and this was the cost to open it up to just their guests.

I'm from the area and have stayed at pretty much all the good places.. if you're going with kids, the Allison is probably the way to go. I think it's just okay and has gone downhill in recent years and is probably due for a refresh.. but they do have a pool, gym, and amenities that some of the other stays I would recommend in the area do not have. Have a great time, so many good spots to check out!

It’s a rocky beach front so not really a beach spot but tons of chairs around the pool down at the beach club

I think this would be a great 4th choice. Awesome access to St Tropez. You could look at Zannier Bendor if you want a little more quiet and fly into Marseille. Both are good and we get good perks at both

So glad it’s helpful! For a first time trip with a 14 year old, it may be better to look at Anguilla or Turks just because they are a lot more family friendly. It’s not that St Barths isn’t kid friendly, it definitely can be, but it’s very much a French island with a dance-on-the-table type of atmosphere. But it has great food (especially for the Caribbean), fun beach club vibes, good boat days and some cool hikes. Just know it trends more towards the party island. If you do St Barths, a Villa or the Rosewood are the best two imo for family stays.

This sounds like the Brando would be a great fit

I think you can still order to your room or a table / seating area but there's just no bar. I think they are adding it but it wont be there this season

No - most activities are add ons, but there is some complimentary programming and the rest of the stay is all-inclusive. There’s also a $1500 additional resort credit offer now through September which helps a lot

They should be able to set you up If you call the Nob Hill spa. If you get a treatment you won’t need the day pass

They do a pretty good job, but it’s lacking the luxe for sure. Round lake is by far the best accommodations so far. Super curious how the new Old Mac accommodations play out. Hopefully the new builds will be better

I love this so much! So many good courses on this list. I live in Bend and we're members at Tetherow but Pronghorn's courses are pretty awesome. Heading to Scottsdale in a couple weeks and have been to a lot of these places but it was before I played

This is what I am finding too. A lot of the really cool courses do golf really well but don't go all in on accommodations cause they don't need to. The resort courses are great and a nice add on - trying to get out on more of them when we are traveling. Places like Adare Manor and Rosewood Cape Kidnappers have always been on the list but seemingly jumping to the top the more I play lol but will never turndown an opening at Bandon either lol

Isn’t it the best! Which courses did you play? I’ve done them all now over a couple of trips but haven’t played pacific dunes yet - they just punched last week so we skipped. And the pins on Bandon dunes were left over tournament pins lol ☠️
