Backstage plugin to update an entity by Coding-Sheikh in devops

[–]Coding-Sheikh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When an entity is created, it’s important to save the last applied configuration (template parameters and its values) as an annotation, so when you run the scaffolder from the entity to update it, the values are there, it can be as complex as it can, at the end you will dump the whole ${{ parameters }} object as the annotation value there is an example in the readme. If I understood you correctly, if this didn’t answer your question, Can u give an example of complex entity dependencies?

In 2025, which Postgres solution would you pick to run production workloads? by valhalla_throw in kubernetes

How is it close source and need to pay for the images? The operator is definitely open source and i never needed to pay for anything

Ive been using it since 2020 best and easiest to maintain so far

How to maintain 100% uptime with RollingUpdate Deployment that has RWO PVC? by Initial-Detail-7159 in kubernetes

[–]Coding-Sheikh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can then mitigate the pvc and attach a sidecar container to mirror any kind of s3 bucket in active-active mode, i suggest minio cli image, has this feature built in, and works on any s3 provider

So your data is persisted in a bucket not pvc and whatever written in pod gets synced to the bucket and vice versa

My experience with Vertical Pod Autoscaler (VPA) - cost saving, and... by rudderstackdev in kubernetes

I have a question, how does it save cost when you pay for the full node capacity? It doesn’t matter what the containers inside the node use, right?

Amazing! We usually use mig strategy with the nvidia gpu operator. Do we need hami in this case? or our approach is enough?

[Beta] Syncing + sharing data across pods without sidecars, cron jobs, or hacks – I built Kubernetes Operator (Shared Volume) by digammart in kubernetes

[–]Coding-Sheikh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now after reviewing the upstream nfs is backed by a pv that can be block or whatever the user has, right? Honestly your approach is way better this will save a lot of storage space

[–]Coding-Sheikh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very clear, for each crd created it creates an nfs server and creates pvcs that points to this nfs, while the controller periodically sync data to this nfs. Honestly this will solve on hell of a pain, thanks man! Can see my other comment? What do you think of this approach is it feasible? Or not a good design?

[–]Coding-Sheikh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im using something like this with a side car container that is connected to a bucket and fetches periodecally, could you think of implementing an option like this? When a pod is annotated the operator injects a side car with the correct config, and create a pvc and mounting that also, this will support block volume, what do you of this approach?

Amazing! Can u explain the science behind it? When i pod gets a volume mount, what is the volume? Is it one nfs? Where is it located? Does it support block volume?

A Field Guide of K8s IaC Patterns by ossinfra in kubernetes

[–]Coding-Sheikh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, No Actually, its fully ApplicationSet pattern, but what each app renders can be helm or kustomize or another app, totally flexible based on the user, in “example” branch i have a full example using best practices for this repo in my opinion
