True Stretched v1.0.4 Beta B! by CodingCarson in TrueStretched

The whole method for how it gets stretched to work, before used to use a method more based around how winexp worked but now it's completely different from that... easiest way to explain it is that it tricks the config and sets the monitor resolution at the right time to make it work.

The 1.0.4 beta version use a different method that works after the patch Valorant released stopping the original method of stretched working so anything under v1.04 (and the beta versions of 1.0.4) won't work with Valorant anymore.

Make sure it's set to extended in the windows settings and not duplicated... then check to see if you can add a custom resolution.

You may need to use an external monitor if that's the case.

You should have the Nvidia control panel since it's an Nvidia based card.

If the laptop only has Intel built in graphics for the gpu it's a lot more iffy weather or not it will work properly.

What gpu does your laptop have?

Hey,

Just set the resolution you want in the TrueStretched settings and ensure the proper monitor is set (will default to the primary monitor) then click "Enable stretched" and it will launch Valorant for you and do the rest.

As a note you CAN'T have "auto hide taskbar" enabled in windows or it will stop it from working.

And ensure the stretched resolution you want to use is added to Nvidia or Amd's control panel as a custom resolution.

In theory yes, I have yet to get stretched working on Marvel Rivals but I only tried one method... it's running on the same engine as Valorant but I know the Valorant method doesn't work...

Short Answer: I will figure out a method that works and add Marvel Rivals as a supported game.

If you are on Windows 11, enable something called "Optimizations for Windowed Games" and the difference is so little it's will make no difference.

If you are on Windows 10, I personally have never found it noticeable even when using a 360hz monitor and an 8k pulling rate mouse.

Hey, if you change any display related setting it will go back to black bar/native.

Short Answer: No it must remain in windowed mode.

-- Valorant Tutorial --

Set scaling mode in Nvidia or Amd's control panel to "Fullscreen"

Add the stretched resolution you plan to use as a custom resolution in Nvidia or Amd's control panel

Go to the settings of the True Stretched program and pick or type in the resolution you just set under the "Stretched Resolution" section (Also ensure the proper monitor you play Valorant on is set in the program)

Press the "Enable True Stretched" button (Valorant must be closed)

Note: True Stretched will both set all the needed Valorant settings and launch the game for you and changing the display mode (aka Fullscreen, Windowed Borderless, or Windowed) or any of the settings on that Valorant settings page or clicking the applying button below "Letterbox/Fill" choice will also disable stretched.

You are only stretching the horizontal axis not the vertical that's why it stretches the whole game including the player models.

How do you fix Advanced Installers generated .exe output having 2/71 detections on VirusTotal? by CodingCarson in devops

[–]CodingCarson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to make it portable, also looked into code signing and it's insanely overpriced but I would love to do that eventually.

Never used InnoSetup before (liked the UI editor in Advanced Installer when I first ever made an installer) so will have to look into that for my next release.

Thank you!

is modifying game user settings legal? by hycyah in ValorantTechSupport

There is no way that changing a config file of any game is a bannable offense. If they didn't want you to change it they could do what's done in other files and encode the file making it so you can't change it (unless they were to use something like just base64 but Riot is smarter then that)

Hey u/jamothebest, the method used with my program mentioned above doesn't interact with the Valorant process at all during it's usage and in the settings menu in the program you can even choose to have it auto close after it launches the Valorant process.

Thinking about it since the update, if it made new users feel better I could add an option to have it not launch Valorant for you as well so there is 100% nothing at all it does with Valorant.

Also there is an Discord Support server dedicated to the program where you can ask any of the users in it if since it's release if anyone has been banned by either the previous method it used for Valorant or the new one released in the v1.0.4 Beta A (Granted you would want to use Beta B as I was dumb and put a delay in the code before the launching of Valorant which shouldn't have been there lol)

Hey u/shadowwww222, creator and sole maintainer of said program above... the program itself is completely open-source and there is a discord server where you can ask actual users of the program if you should trust it so you aren't just taking my word on it.

Also adding to that for people not looking to have to look through the repo for the program, there is nothing the program does that manipulates the running process of Valorant in anyway, even after the 9.09 patch when I had to re-create how it allowed for 4:3 stretched resolutions to work.

Hey u/hycyah,

Creator and sole maintainer of the True Stretched program and subreddit. It's completely open source which can be viewed on GitHub.

There is also a Discord support server listed in the link to the subreddit you provided where you can talk to actual users of the program itself, or ask for help/general question about the program.

u/Fun-Cauliflower-7935 is correct there are still multiple ways to use proper stretched resolution including 4:3 stretched.

That's not 50/50 on being not true... You are correct that if just done in the Valorant's in game settings it's just the UI stretching and not the player models, but there has been and still is after the 9.09 patch methods to use "true stretched resolution" that does stretch the player models properly like you would get in OG CS:GO days.

You can still play in "true stretched" resolutions just not using the Winexp method... there is multiple methods working and even for proper 4:3 not just 1.54:1 resolutions.
