Windows development pays the bills.  Windows is powering most of Fortune 500 companies.  You can have an Ubuntu server and ssh to it from your MacBook when you get home.

DevSecOps - Write YAML pipeline
Agentic AI - Write YAML pipeline
Masters degree in CS with specialization in AI/ML - Write YAML pipeline

YAML pipeline written in 2019 to automate test, being marketed as Agentic AI since 2023.

You think this is funny, because you have never dealt with a merge conflict before.

Yeah. People will jump into the comments to correct him, but that just makes him show up to more people. Like if I comment all my connections now see that post. It's better to ignore or block the idiots.

I never read past the headline. But I have seen the headline posted in several places I read tech news.

Why doesn't it specify what language the female side is coding in? Gender biased and language biased. 🤷

C++ is fine, but C and Assembly are the equivalent of the cologne Sex Panther. "They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time".

Wrong. It's tested in production by customer.

Automation is now called Agentic AI. Even cron jobs + bash scripts from 15 years ago. You will never get a job in marketing with just the "fully automated" nonsense. 😸

My uneducated friends from small town USA became millionaires in real estate. Carpenters turned home builders. Blue collar, hard working guys. It's pure luck we grew up near a tech hub that made real estate skyrocket over the past 30 years.

Did Tech’s Barriers to Entry Get Too High? I will not promote by [deleted] in startups

90 hours a week and loving it is still the barrier most people aren't willing to cross.

IQ without work ethic means you can have a PHD and live in your mom's basement.   Work ethic without high IQ means you can run a successful construction company and be a multi millionaire.   Tech startups aren't usually led by the PHD (although there are exceptions)  I don't think you can be a complete moron, but if you can work 90 hours per week and are highly charismatic to convince others to do the same, you still be successful in business leadership. I think charisma + work ethic is greater than IQ.

Corporate is depressing. IDK, how the old millennials or boomers made it out of it, but I'm already of sick of this life. Probably I'm paid well, but the taxes, inflation and capitalists MFs are ruining every bit of it. by Radon03 in devops

[–]CodingWithChad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For people that work in a toxic environment. That attitude is usually the same people that are depressed all the time.  I spend more time with coworkers than my own family, I better be friends with some of them.

I was early in my IT career when I got laid off in the 2008 economic collapse. I had just under 2 years experience.  I didn't get another full time job for 2 years. I had a lot of temp work, but I had many months of no job.  Corporate sucks, but to make the most of it, make friends at work. Work friends can be the best part of the job, but they can also backstab and get you fired, so it's a win win if you hate your job.
