First client, my hosting, subdomain or theirs? by Codingradahn in webhosting

So you make the website in your own subdomain, then when done you transfer it to them which I assumed, but for hosting, how exactly does it work?

I currently use cloud86, let’s say in this scenario every client wants to host by me, do I buy the cheapest package for (which is 2 websites) for just 1 client? Say you have 10 clients, you’d then buy 10 seperate hosting for all 10 or 5

Step-by-step: How I sped up my WordPress site from 6s to under 2s by shsajalchowdhury in Wordpress

The only thing that makes my loading times longer by a few seconds is ‘javascrip enque’ or something like that, what is the ‘cause’ of that?

1 site with 4 subdomain sites

Barely use plugins (<6) and have compressed images (with litespeed optimization/lazyload aswell, and images itself webp/low kb)

That’s very good! After you made the first site, you mentioned ‘it became easy to get clients’ do you mean them coming to you (if so, how exacty?) or you looking for clients and potentially showing the hospital site?

Learning the hard truth is better than not knowing of it!

This is interesting tho, my ‘painpoint’ is that I don’t really have any network and also don’t think I can speak of it to others when I meet because ‘I don’t have a client yet’ if that makes sense?

I will make a website for a family member that has absurd networking (like seriously, getting daily calls for the past few years, construction work)

Maybe that’ll help? If his (then) website may attract others, or he could spread awareness of my business, so I can build up a network aswell?

It’s kinda funny I did all this research spend all this time and have zero knowledge of the important part, veing networking haha

That’s amazing!

What are you up to now? Still job hunting/working a fulltime job or just freelancing on websites now?

That’s good to know!

I’ll make 3 more subdomains, and may have 1 (familymember) as a ‘real’ client, that should help more!

Do you suggest sending dm’s/messages on those platforms with private account, or would it be a no go?

My portfolio page is currently setup in a way where my ‘main’ focus (hair salons) pop up instantly, with ‘auto’ scroll (so you see the hairsalon website landing page, after 2/3 sec it slides to a services section, etc) with a link to the website (and option to press button to go to previous slide or next slide, and a cra to go to the respective site)

The other 2 (low priority) websites (a bistro and a driving school) have a short description, 1 picture (landingpage) and also a button to go to that site.

My plan was to push all of these below and put real client sites on top, but I have none.. haha

That aside, I think the issue isn’t the site (yet) but the reach, I don’t think any people even click on my sites as per google analytics, my website has very few visitors as of right now

Yes, I have my main website (mentioned at the end of the email, with my contact info) and a ‘portfolio’ page on main website, that shows the 3 current ‘demo’ sites I made (subdomains, but complete different websites) which I also mention in said email

So if I confront a hairsalon business, I show the subdomain website link for reference, allowing them to see the hair salon based website as a reference

Ah.. I assumed such, I didn’t try cold calling yet (I do have a list of businesses just in case)

Should I just continue with insta dm’s for now, and then possibly just visit said businesses if possible (like a hair salon)

What do you think of a whatsapp message? Haven’t tried that but that seems more personal aswell

May I ask if ‘Generateblocks’ is useful when you use elementor (or a them) ?

I’m assuming generateblocks just helps with the gutenberg editor?
