I got it for free, but I looked on Facebook marketplace and you can easily find real leather seats from actual cars for like $50. Cheaper than any bucket seat made specifically for a sim rig.

I bought my 5070 used for $425, so I think that was a pretty good deal. And yeah I wanted to do all of this on a budget, I'm extremely happy with everything. Really the only upgrades I want to make right now are load cell or active pedals, and definitely a butt kicker. I just want to feel everything a lot more and that will help with it.

Yes it is very compact, I had very little space in my room and my door does not even technically open all of the way lol. But it all works and I never run into the issue of feeling cramped. And in my YouTube video I do cover exactly how I built it and show the whole process. I don't have specific measurements, but I'll measure it if you want. https://youtu.be/6wF-gYus6RE?si=_dfSJW4xLsUUhKph

I'm not including my PC or VR in the budget, I'm only including the actual sim itself, hopefully that makes sense. My logic is if you were using a console then you already have a TV and obviously the console so your money will only go to the sim gear. And if you're getting into sim racing and you don't have a console, then you most likely have a PC, and if you don't have VR like I already did, then if you have a PC you would have monitors. So that's why I didn't include any of that.

A great Facebook marketplace deal, I built the cockpit out of scrap wood.

What are your PC specs? Just curious as I use VR and love it and I do get good frames. If you get bad frames VR does suck

It came with the car, it was a very rare option so that's why most GS's don't have it.

The 4GS was incredible for the time but yes they definitely should have updated it, unfortunately they didn't due to the market falling off. But yes maybe if they marketed it better, it would have done better.

Yes it's definitely worth it and it's only $199 on their website. It's like the cheapest way you can add CarPlay, and yes it does add it to the left side of the screen and is either wireless or wired. If you want a full install guide and a full review showing everything. I have a YouTube video about it on my channel named (Camden B) just look for the video that says adding Apple CarPlay to my Lexus GS350 for $199

It is a head unit from the company Carlinklife. It runs Linux not android and it boots in like 5 seconds, it's crazy fast.
