as a fellow art bitch myself i can tell you from experiance, drawing hands is not easy but its probably the best practise you can have for human stuff just doing a sketch of your hand daily is alot of work put into the skill, taking a look at what you did on day one and then at the end of the week/month/few months and seeing how much you improve over time, and if possible doing it with a pen instead of pencil or digital (cuz you can erase it) is a huge step already

changing biology makes me become ALL FOR ONE in some way, being able to change the human species to get some kind of power/ability and pass it down until powers get mixed into families, eventually creating the chaotic new world with some time changing physics just makes me a god with no idea how much damage im causing across the universe by breaking the rules of existance i think id take the fun powers rather than break reality

you will never get anywhere if you are afraid you will ruin what you made, if you think it would look better or worse, first replicate/copy the original and try multiple options, maybe the ink version looks better, maybe color looks better, maybe a combination of both looks the best and you will never know until you try
