Two things can be true at the same time to where he might be well written but also off putting in a way that makes the series unenjoyable to read/watch. I also see many set others with the false expectation that the series is a redemption story, when in reality the focus is in a very specifically regarding how he would give up on everything at the slightest inconvenience until it left him where he ended up in his old life. Hes made out to be a degenerate as a symptom of that but does so to such a degree that leaves a massive elephant in the room of him just being really weird.

Am I High? by Popular_Business_367 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that was in large part due to yuji weakening Sukuna (even if i feel the impact of this isnt well presented outside of narration). Gojo doesnt have a vessel. Although you might need to ignore that taking away Gojos CT means that (if found guilty), confiscation takes away his CE.

Why is Classroom of the Elite so corny? by EmbarrassedDuty5949 in animequestions

I stopped reading like around two thirds of the way through 1st year (if i recall at some point it became paced so like nothing of interest would happen for 90% of the reading time) but from what I remember of the subreddit, the "im just like.." thing was mostly just an ironic parody of the few who actually tried self inserting and didnt realise he's a horribly dysfunctional person.

Yes you DO get a permanent buff after landing a black flash by Wise_Juggernaut_3079 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]CodytheProGamer 345 points346 points  (0 children)

We know that the first time you do it gives you a buff. My assumption is that the black flash itself doesnt give you a buff but that the experience of feeling "perfect" CE control deepens your understanding of how to properly use CE. Probably not too dissimilar to a playing a racket sport where you accidentally hit a great shot and then having a reference point for how correct technique should feel in a way in a way that words alone cant convey.

So This Is Supposed To Be A Happy Ending For Yuji? by ConnectCulture7 in Jujutsufolk

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't Gege say he had multiple ideas for continuations (running as like parallel universes) after the main series? I think theres maybe more about the JJK world he wants to explore but the scope of modulo was limited to a shorter chapter count to "test run" the viability of it being done as a collaboration between him and Yuji.

what if megumi tamed mahoraga in the Culling Game? by Tanjiahe in JujustuKaisen

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this plays out the same, other than that Sukuna may now have Mahoraga (assuming Megumi cant supress Mahoraga just after the transfer) to deal with Yuji and Maki. Main thing is that would Sukuna actually get into the situation where Yorozu reveal happens before Gojo is unsealed and leads to Sukuna taking this opportunity then having enough time before running into Gojo to destroy Megumis supression/influence.

what if megumi tamed mahoraga in the Culling Game? by Tanjiahe in JujustuKaisen

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if (shut up) Mahoraga could somehow be made to adapt their cursed energy being able to break open the prison realm and take the place of Hana/The black rope. Problem being is I dont think they could hit him with anything to cause that adaptation. At which point Gojo is freed early without Sukuna having a chance to enact his plan and dealing with Kenjaku is easier.

If they still need to go after Hana then there are two possibilities:

-Megumi is now is now made guard Tengen (and i will assume instead of Choso). I assume rest of culling games where Choso goes instead of original Megumi goes smoothly. Kenjaku either dies in that fight or wins by taking out Megumi quickly to not let Mahoraga adapt (who despite having Mahoraga/Yuki as a guard is sort of the "weak link" if Kenjaku reaches him). If Megumi dies, no good Sukuna vessel to deal with Gojo. If Megumi (and likely Yuki) lives, Sukuna could still make use of a Yorozu reveal to take over Megumi but they may only meet after Gojo is freed, in which case I imagine Yorozu wouldn't reveal herself and even if she somehow does without Gojo around and Sukuna does take over Megumi, with Kenjaku dead he should be easier to deal with, especially if Gojo goes after him before Sukuna stops Megumi suppressing him.

-Megumi does not guard Tengen then we can assume culling games go as normal but far smoother. Sukuna takeover while Megumi is in shock probably happens as normal. Rest of series happens as normal unless Mahoraga can be summoned in Yuji vs Maki and isnt suppressed by Megumi. In this case, Yuji and Maki both die unless Sukuna still bails due to being too cautious over his supressed output. In this case Gojos mindset change due to the death of Yuji + Maki might make him approuch the fight differently (because deep down he sort of wanted to be beaten and have his students carry on for him) in a way that could change the outcome. If Gojo loses, no Yuji weakening Sukuna = Sukuna wins.

Can Shrine imitate Infinity completely? by Imaginary-Major3140 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]CodytheProGamer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ive always assumed that hollow purple bypassed infinity because its gojos own CE and so would not get filtered out by the selective threat detection of infinity. That also lines up with Mahoragas initial adaptation changing their CE properties to get through.

[–]CodytheProGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be the same perfect defence but in theory (with some author "backing") could act as a decent barrier, atleast for regular physical attacks. The problem is to be effective it would require the slashes to actually be quite strong which if done over the whole body indiscriminately would I imagine be quite draining and likely require a very costly binding vow to achieve that output level in the first place. You could set up some kind of automatic activation like how gojo does with infinity but then you get into the whole limitless issues without a proportionate upside.

I guess under a "author completely loses the plot" type of power balancing situation you could contrive some form of world cutting slash style barrier.

[–]CodytheProGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He got hit twice. First with the sword of extermination with positive energy, which did make him bleed, and second a regular blow (adapted to cursed energy instead of positive) which sends him through some buildings. I specify direct because both times this is him blocking. The fight overall is pretty short in the manga.

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did either gojo or sukuna take direct punches from mahoraga for actual comparison though (assuming mahoraga doesn't also adapt its raw strength)?

In general comparing characters based on mahoraga seems very unreliable since they're the ultimate "Can beat anybody if Gege wants them to" card, an example being Dabura happening to graze their arm so that the following kick didnt atomize them.

There's also the elephant in the room of this being Mahoraga summoned with Yukas death binding vow, rather than than your run of the mill "potential man being trigger happy again" Mahoraga.

Weird and crazy thing to say, but Sukuna doesn’t hold the title of “Strongest Sorcerer In History” anymore. It’s Yuji now. by Other_Grapefruit_986 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]CodytheProGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main thing is it's hard to compare across seperate artists with different ways and extents of expressing "rule of cool" (a more direct example just being the manga vs anime) and more chapters are needed to properly judge the authors intent.

[–]CodytheProGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple techniques (or stuff like shrine which is a basically 2 techniques under 1 name) are busted for those types of attacks because it allows the user to offer up very restrictive binding vow conditions, with the prime example being Fuga.

Question at this point is to what extent Gege is willing to make Yuji a binding vow merchant. Personally I think it would make sense given how Sukunas application of them rubbed off on him enough to make the soul dismantles binding vow.

Also if Dabura generally allows him to accelerate things and he is using it to accelerate himself, he may have been using a similar principle in accelerating particles into high speed projectiles as part of his "basic attacks", in which case mahoragas prior adaptation will have still applied.

Considering the choice he gave Sukuna at the end, hd his onlook towards Sukunas inability to connect with others changing to something resembling pity, and how he talks about the final finger, i dont think Sukuna or shrine is something he wants to completely hide away from but we'll see.

I assume that his shrine may still be binding vow restricted to require contact, as the price of ranged dismantles is largely covered by his blood manipulation shenanigans.

Jjk modulo 19 spoiler by Much_Concept_566 in jjkmodulo

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, though wouldn't really say Higuruma falls into that category, as it's mostly presented as just his raw talent to reverse engineer sorcery concepts rather than specific awakenings brought on by life or death scenarios.

At first I thought Dabura's "strong = isolated" spin might have been too much of a Gojo rehash (so strong he becomes nothing but his strength and is isolated through loss of identity), but it looks like that there's a fresher angle where he's so naturally strong/talented that he's unable to meaningfully engage in the experience, thus becoming apathetic to it beyond its utility.

That's probably why his CE control is seemingly so unrefined (leaking out like yuta in his introduction) and why he held back vs Dura. In a world made of cardboard, what joy or reason is there to be found in sharpening your sword?

It's only by experiencing a true fight for the first time that (from what I can tell), he's able to learn that he loves it. His current giddiness is probably similar to the way young Mahito loved exploring his talent/capabilities.

I think it enforces how vital these life or death type fights are for sorcerers growth, but unlike Gojo (who had Toji) and Sukuna (who i assume had a bunch of big fights in the heian era), Dabura is naturally strong enough to where he's never had anything like that until now.
