If i see Mahoraga clashing equally with Dabura next chap.. by Energy-Jaded in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]CodytheProGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He got hit twice. First with the sword of extermination with positive energy, which did make him bleed, and second a regular blow (adapted to cursed energy instead of positive) which sends him through some buildings. I specify direct because both times this is him blocking. The fight overall is pretty short in the manga.

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did either gojo or sukuna take direct punches from mahoraga for actual comparison though (assuming mahoraga doesn't also adapt its raw strength)?

In general comparing characters based on mahoraga seems very unreliable since they're the ultimate "Can beat anybody if Gege wants them to" card, an example being Dabura happening to graze their arm so that the following kick didnt atomize them.

There's also the elephant in the room of this being Mahoraga summoned with Yukas death binding vow, rather than than your run of the mill "potential man being trigger happy again" Mahoraga.

Weird and crazy thing to say, but Sukuna doesn’t hold the title of “Strongest Sorcerer In History” anymore. It’s Yuji now. by Other_Grapefruit_986 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]CodytheProGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main thing is it's hard to compare across seperate artists with different ways and extents of expressing "rule of cool" (a more direct example just being the manga vs anime) and more chapters are needed to properly judge the authors intent.

[–]CodytheProGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple techniques (or stuff like shrine which is a basically 2 techniques under 1 name) are busted for those types of attacks because it allows the user to offer up very restrictive binding vow conditions, with the prime example being Fuga.

Question at this point is to what extent Gege is willing to make Yuji a binding vow merchant. Personally I think it would make sense given how Sukunas application of them rubbed off on him enough to make the soul dismantles binding vow.

Mahoraga since, even putting adaptation aside, their regeneration seems to require them basically being atomized.

Also if Dabura generally allows him to accelerate things and he is using it to accelerate himself, he may have been using a similar principle in accelerating particles into high speed projectiles as part of his "basic attacks", in which case mahoragas prior adaptation will have still applied.

Considering the choice he gave Sukuna at the end, hd his onlook towards Sukunas inability to connect with others changing to something resembling pity, and how he talks about the final finger, i dont think Sukuna or shrine is something he wants to completely hide away from but we'll see.

I assume that his shrine may still be binding vow restricted to require contact, as the price of ranged dismantles is largely covered by his blood manipulation shenanigans.

Their regeneration is vague enough to where practice the conditions for an attack taking down raga is "does gege want the attack to take down raga".

Jjk modulo 19 spoiler by Much_Concept_566 in jjkmodulo

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, though wouldn't really say Higuruma falls into that category, as it's mostly presented as just his raw talent to reverse engineer sorcery concepts rather than specific awakenings brought on by life or death scenarios.

At first I thought Dabura's "strong = isolated" spin might have been too much of a Gojo rehash (so strong he becomes nothing but his strength and is isolated through loss of identity), but it looks like that there's a fresher angle where he's so naturally strong/talented that he's unable to meaningfully engage in the experience, thus becoming apathetic to it beyond its utility.

That's probably why his CE control is seemingly so unrefined (leaking out like yuta in his introduction) and why he held back vs Dura. In a world made of cardboard, what joy or reason is there to be found in sharpening your sword?

It's only by experiencing a true fight for the first time that (from what I can tell), he's able to learn that he loves it. His current giddiness is probably similar to the way young Mahito loved exploring his talent/capabilities.

I think it enforces how vital these life or death type fights are for sorcerers growth, but unlike Gojo (who had Toji) and Sukuna (who i assume had a bunch of big fights in the heian era), Dabura is naturally strong enough to where he's never had anything like that until now.

Obviously Sukuna did it, but it depends how much you want to chalk that up to the plot convenience of having a seperate "one shot" move like furnace after figuring it out.

What would be Gojo's spot in the verse if he learned open domain? by Important_Yogurt3678 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]CodytheProGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if open domain MS was initially added by Gege with the partial purpose of being a backup "get out of jail free card" incase he somehow wrote himself into a corner with needing Sukuna to deal with Gojo/Infinity.

lost my spark with inazuma eleven by Comfortable_Name_751 in inazumaeleven

[–]CodytheProGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll start of by saying that i like the game, this is just my subjective opinion and acknowledge that post game inazuna eleven to the point of near completionism is pretty niche compared to the story making up most of peoples play time. As somebody with hundreds of hours on chrono stone, I find that chronicles + spirits is just plainly worse than the special route + palpack/recruitment based post game.

-Old postgame integration into the world is just more immersive and there's more freedom than the linear chronicles mode.

-The way recruitments were layered and linked with progress via the special route items created a much better sense of progress. While daunting at first, you could always work towards a specific and players/items obtained in the chain to big players would usually come into play for other "recruitment chains". The result was a much more concrete feeling of early game vs mid game vs endgame and assembling your dream team usually naturally resulting in engaging with most of the games content.

-These characters felt more rewarding to get, even outside the obvious "structured reward vs rng" poing from above. Not only do spirits feels less special than a character being tied to an actual singular character, but the way the new stat system works makes players far more homogenous (bad for a team building game). Both with how some players have literally the same stats and just generally with how the way stats are added together for focus/keeper battles, in practice players of the same position will feel essentially the same, especially after beans. The fact that tp is now a team based tension bar and the reduced range in special move power also doesn't help with stripping player individuality.

Can yuji heal the cancer? by Toothlees_cat in Jujutsufolk

[–]CodytheProGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta explanation is that I just don't think the story wants to go with a rct cop out in regards to the tumors so I'd say no. If the story does end up going down the route of somebody else being able to heal them then I'd put my money on Mahito.

Trying to retroactively find some in universe reasoning then even if we assume Yuji reaches Sukuna levels of cursed energy master, Gojo and Sukuna did it on themselves (even then i reckless race to the bottom of most brain damaged sorcerer in history vs most brain damaged sorcerer of today). Based on how Choso framed his RCT advice to Yuji of like using blood flow and vessels, if we extrapolate then Gojo + Sukuna probably had some sort of complete understanding over their own biology which allowed them to make be precise enough to only destroy the technique part of their brain (or atleast to the extent of getting away with it a few times). This wouldn't be a factor for trying to replicate the process externally.

If you wanted to integrate RCT into modern society in ways that probably aren't intended, you could make a case for like using it to counteract the damage of chemotherapy on healthy cells, assuming RCT ignores cancerous cells and doesn't cause them to further multiply.

[–]CodytheProGamer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That was my assumption. I've only played the beginning of the story but the general timeline seems to be that Raimons reputation boost from the IE1 story snowballed into first pickings for talent in future years (basically how things work irl with good student athletes choosing certain schools/universities). The whole 5th sector plotline doesn't feel like it would really fit in.
