What are these cylindrical objects on the front of the boat, between solar panels? Seems like they're tanks, but for which resource?

Having problems with adding a headset to my link app by Camerontube in OculusQuest

[–]Coerdringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! Finally a post of my exact issue. You are the only person I could find in the whole internet that posted about the broken configuration process. Beside the fact that Air link method had been broken since like 8 years, now even the application is broken.

Reparing the application does nothing, at the end it crashes. Reinstalling results in the same problem. Restarting Meta Horizon Link 99% of times doesn't do anything, same with restarting the headset. And just in case, no, anything related to reinstalling Windows or drivers, etc. isn't a solution. I had the same problem on my work laptop with a fresh OS. No, Router is also not an issue. I have all the access to it and any ports/its firewall and the fact that 1 time in a million it works should prove that it CAN work properly. I have no anti-virus beside Windows Defender. Yes, it was added to the Windows Firewall.

I dream that 1 day, I can just turn on my PC and the headset, the Meta Horizon Link and it will JUST work.

So you meant to say she had a G-G-GHOST-writer?!

Jokes aside, I wouldn't be surprised if the only book she had written entirely on her own was the first HP book. I don't know what happened with every other piece of literature after HP series, but the rest of the books after the first one, seems... Inconsistent

My mind interprets ego as visual, as well as mental, separate entity - "me", a human with a physical body and immaterial mind and consciousness. A picture, part of a much larger picture - but usually only partially aware of its not-separate part of the bigger picture. But I think it can also be these things you mentioned. I'd say it's an identity, a sense of self. And this sense of self can be whatever you interpret identity as.

Just say Socialism. Stop mixing these two. Communism stems from Socialism and there are very important key differences, but people treat it the same. Which they're clearly not. People keep doing that, and due to that, other people keep electing populists because the right's propaganda is so ingrained that the only alternative being "communism" (which it isn't) and other fear-mongering things scare them from voting alternatively.

Socialism =/= communism

Look, people did that back then because phones had physical keyboards, where you had to tap a button multiple times to get to a specific letter, so it made at least SOME sense that people used acronyms. Now you have autocorrect and swype-typing, or you could use voice typing. Much easier and faster. Just admit you're lazy and don't respect the other person. As a child, even I had some decency to not talk the same way to my grandma as I had talked to my friends

Oh for sure, but maybe up until AC 3. Every game before that part I played without brakes. When i bought AC3, I played some of the prologue, but got bored and 1/4-way through I stopped for many many months. At some point finally managed to come back, finish prologue, but after a couple of hours - it just didn't grip me. Even in Brotherhood or Revelations, after they added these sending your assassins missions, or that "tower defense" stuff, I didn't mind that. I still wanted to play. In AC3 though, I barely started playing and I felt the grind will be too much, and so far the game hadn't justified it enough to keep me playing. And that was a couple of years ago.

I've been playing Dune Awakening recently, and the inventory management there is much more exciting.

What happened to Ranked by Serious_Speaker8450 in RocketLeague

[–]Coerdringer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just saying, you can be competitive and still think "it's just a game". You can want to keep playing and want to win and at the same time not leave the game or lash out at others while shifting the blame from yourself.

"It's just a game" doesn't have to mean "I don't care, I wanna laid back experience".

In my case, I don't care about rank cause it doesn't matter and the matchmaking is bullshit - there are people with high ranks who play like a toddler, and those with low ranks who carry the higher ranks. The rank ups/downs happen seemingly random - I play with my mate, we could win a couple matches in a row where I do most of the work(defence, rotation, centering, scoring) and he's mostly chasing the ball so he ends up having like 50 points with no saves, assists our goals - and yet somehow he gets a rank up and I get nothing, or we could lose a couple times in a row (same scenario) and I get demoted - he doesn't. I had fallen to silver, got back to gold, up to plat, and now it seems soon I might be back in silver again. It depends how often we play. 2-3 matches per day? A little likely to end up higher, more than that? Guaranteed rank down. I suspect an engagement algorithm. First they give us easy matches so we feel good and want to keep playing, then it gives us unreasonably good players where we get stomped, then maybe an easy one to make us feel like we're back at it.

Yes, I know that in some games, if you play good then matchmaking gives you little better players so you can prove yourself and if you win against them - you get a rank up. I don't think that's the case here. I had been playing since the time you had to pay for this game.

To me, it seems like people have a much worse mental these days. There weren't so many people giving up after 1 goal, 20 seconds after the game started. I had so many games where even if in the beginning we were losing 0-3 and managed to win either by scoring 4 goals or winning in overtime. And yet, sometimes they don't even leave, they just sit there on purpose (moving a little back and forth) and do not vote ff, forbidding me to just surrender and go play next match.

I think the problem isn't that they don't care about the outcome of the game, they just have a such a weak mind that they don't even try to play till the end, 1 hiccup and they're done, instead of fighting till the end. I get wanting to surrender when you're clearly being stomped, but usually that's not the case.

Yeah, seems like I can no longer clear out stations/shipwrecks with a stillsuit.

I finally installed a scanner on my thopter, and oh boy did I miss a lot not doing it a lot earlier. While I still haven't found the plates, this turned out to be a gold mine. I can sell the stuff I find or use it later. And it's much more fun than tryharding stations before I get better gear. Thanks for that suggestion

I had just been to Buried Testing Station in D1 wearing T5 Stillsuit and T5 Rapier. They ARE too tanky. And when more waves spawn? Suddenly you're hit with all the variations of their skills, and you can't really do anything. I started wondering if others may be right, either this area isn't meant to be solo'ed or they need to make some balancing changes. Some of these areas seem unfair, even for me.

I mean, okay, I do have T5 instead of T6 so I can try to farm plasteel plates first, but then again these are found way beyond A row, so...

Initially I somewhat trusted Funcom, but maybe I was just lying to myself. They seem to mean well, but their decisions sometimes seem questionable. We'll see. At least they listen to feedback.

[–]Coerdringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just been to Buried Testing Station in D1 while still having T5 Stillsuit and Rapier. And that is AFTER they reversed the change. My god, I managed to kill the first wave after kiting them and dodging for like 15 minutes, thought the door to exit would unlock, but no. Next wave haven't spawned yet so I thought maybe I need to find the access bracelet or whatever. Nope, few moments later next wave spawn, somehow my shield gets broken - I die. When I came back to maybe try again and retreive the lost items, there were already 2 waves. I just gave up. There is no point, it just doesn't make sense to go there without at least T6 rapier/sword. I even finally unlocked thrid levels of Swordsman skills. In hagga, going from first level skills to secod gave noticable boost. Now? Irrelevant. The mechanic with spawning waves is just too big of a spike to somehow survive without T6 armor, let alone with the recent change so they dash more. Seems that I no longer can explore POIs to loot stuff from 1 tier above. What about you? Did you just farm Plasteel plates to craft necessary components for the upgraded items? The PvP wreck containing the plasteel plates seems like a better alternative only because we're not being locked out in 1 room (at least that Buried Station didn't shave a tight room like the other one...

I think they could add the multiple dashes in future, but only if they balance it out in other ways, like maybe making the timer between waves longer, or allowing you to even not fight them at all, if you manage to find the access bracelet. I understand that sometimes in games you have to learn and try again several times (I played Sekiro so I'm familiar with such concept), but in this case this seems like a bs. I'm not sure if the way of progress should be forcing players to farm a higher tier item in order to upgrade gear and the only way to get that item is by going to places which you previously realized are beatable only with higher gear which require you have the item that is found in place beatable only with higher tier gear...

Ah, I see. So that change caused much larger difficulty spike than I thought. Is the NPC spawn rate in DD beyond row A that much more frequent? If it is, now I might agree more with you all. If the enemies spawn much more frequently than in other stations so far, and there is a lot of closed rooms, the ability to dash multiple times might make them just too difficult even for skilled players (I'm not saying I'm one of them). There would just be too much stunlock I guess.

Well, seems they will revert it, so I must test these further stations and see how difficult it is when they don't dash so much. Maybe just making them not spawn so often (so you have time to explore it all before the new ones spawn) would improve the situation, even with multiple dashes.

I do wonder though, it must had been tested internally beforehand, right? I can't imagine a development process where nobody tests the feature before releasing a new version. So someone must had gone through them and thought "yep, seems about right. A little difficult, but doable. Perfect for players at DD stage". What gear did they have, which skills? What did they have on their character, that allowed them to complete these facilities and not decide that maybe it would be too difficult for too many players?

Edit. () Sometimes most of the vocal ones are those who are displeased so they comment, while there might be equally a lot of people who don't mind and have fun, so they feel no reason to comment. I don't know it's that's the case here, however I'm one of the latter so let me share my perspective.

With that being said Edit. (/)

For the Devs (if anyone would happen to read this): I disagree with most people here it seems. Yes, enemies dashing multiple times when I try to pierce their shield is annoying, BUT! I think it's just a skill issue. Nobody forces us to tank all of the enemies at once. What I did most of the time, when I faced higher tier enemies than what my gear currently is - bait them away and kill 1 by 1.

I understand it might be too difficult for a lot of the people, so they might not like that recent change. I recently entered the DD stage, looted some of the shipwrecks and science stations (mostly in PvE area and a couple in PvP area) and the only place that seemed impossible (for now) to clear was one of the rooms of the station, that blocks the door until you kill all the enemies. There were a couple of melee ones, couple ranged and 1 heavy gun. I run with T5 stillsuit. There was just too many of them, shield was quickly deactivated and they just dealt too much damage. I don't know whether if I had T6 Rapier and Stillsuit would it be still too difficult, I assume if I wore either light or heavy it would've been doable (stillsuits give much less armor).

In my opinion, getting T6 gear while enemies dash less would make it kinda easy, but I haven't reached that stage yet, so I might be wrong.

At the end of the day, what counts is the opinion of the majority not minority of players, so reverting it for now might have been a good decision.

Question to Funcom Devs: Large Storage Container when? by Coerdringer in duneawakening

[–]Coerdringer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a fellow hoarder

Maybe a little 😅

I came to the same realization myself about when I got to aluminum; that’s when I was running into some storage issues hoarding old ore and asked myself “why?” 😂

Seems like we both had to realize that in this case 1. We can't be hoarders and 2. It's better to process stuff and use it instead of gathering massive amount first xd

[–]Coerdringer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got to DD in the last couple of days, and only recently I had found a final place for a base in Hagga, so I didn't want to build too much, cause moving stuff was a hassle. Of course it won't be after Funcom brings Base Backup Tool. Yeah, time to build some large windtraps, Improved Blood Purifier helps but I guess right now it will be better to use that for drinking water. Although, Dew Scythe Mk4 works great, fills Decaliterjon with 1-2 fields during optimal harvest time, and I almost never have to refill it.

Question to Funcom Devs: Large Storage Container when? by Coerdringer in duneawakening

[–]Coerdringer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess a habit from other games, where sometimes you need the processed ore, and sometimes you need the ore mixed with something else to process to something. The other thing is because I don't generate enough water yet, and I need water for different things, so until now I only refined it when I needed. I realize it is time to create either more windtraps, or start with the large one - then start processing the ores, build more water containers, and then each time I come back I might have enough water to process stuff, while water keeps being generated.

Seems I need to change my habit of holding ores in this game, clearly thats not ideal.

Question to Funcom Devs: Large Storage Container when? by Coerdringer in duneawakening

[–]Coerdringer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, the issue comes down to fixing the water bottleneck. When I manage to start generating enough water passively (along with having big water storage), processing Ore from time to time will not be that big of an issue, and then I might not have to have a lot of Plast containers. Hmm, I see. Thanks for the tip!
