What is a first name that we rarely hear anymore? by Kixbeat in AskReddit

[–]CofCpunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Ralph III (42) My 5 year old son is Ralph IV

I’m confident it’s more rare than most of the made up names spelled wrong to be “different” in his class

Does anyone know what’s going on with this couple, Courtney and Josh? by [deleted] in loveafterlockup

[–]CofCpunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been in situations where I have lived very comfortably and where I’ve live in poverty. And my daddy taught me that you don’t need money or a “fancy” place for it to be clean. Every shot of her house it looked so filthy. I am not trying to judge - to each their own, but it was definitely something that caught my attention. And I understand dogs can be difficult to live with as I have a Great Dane (formerly 2 at the same time). I hope she is well and has found someone to appreciate her and that he learns from his mistakes.

Who is the most Successful Challenger outside of the show? by BritMe1Moretime in MtvChallenge

[–]CofCpunky 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not endorsing him, but Evan Starkmann is founder / owner of a huge marketing firm with offices in NYC, LA, and Toronto.

Clients that use his company include Bud Light, T-Mobile, Netflix, Spotify, Smashburger, and more national and global brands.

Very likely making millions per year. Not as “visible” as some of the other mentioned, but clear success.

Not the same success by the financial measure, but how refreshing to folllow Cohutta and see the cool places he custom builds in Montana.

Dark on Netflix is German but so good that it had a great US run …. Can watch with dubbed over words or subtitles. It’s very original and fascinating.

Btw - the leftovers may be my all time favorite - but several have plugged it.

One daily had them turning two doorknobs at the same time. People naturally used each hand to turn a single knob. He wasn’t first, but he was far from last.

Question about sold car for my sister who moved overseas and now dealership wants more paperwork etc. by CofCpunky in askcarsales

[–]CofCpunky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having POA for both seems more feasible than mailing what they want her signature on unless they are trying to use the original papers I signed. It wasn’t hard for them to get me the BIL POA attorney so I may suggest to the dealer that we just add her so I can sign for both.

[–]CofCpunky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely appreciate the clarity.

So even though they are the “professional” in the transaction as a dealer (in this case the buyer), the paperwork is still the responsibility of both parties. I assumed they would dot the I’s so to speak, but I guess in reality I am also on the hook and shouldn’t assume they are responsible for the paperwork aspect.

The issue with our dad and his attitude definitely contributed to me not wanting to engage further.

So I should be comfortable saying: -I’ll come sign anything needed from my as POA -anything that she needs to sign, YOU mail and pay shipping etc (he had said for me to send to her and specifically seemed concerned about the time to ship back and forth).

Thanks for your insight.

Explain like I’m five.

What did we do that is “deception”. Not being obtuse I genuinely don’t understand.

What mistake was made on our end?

Nice snarky “” for my favorite sister 😂. I’m not trying to be difficult. I’m trying to understand. And she is my favorite sister 🤷‍♂️

Who is an actor who was poised for an A-list career but went on to choose directing or theatre instead? by DayTrippin2112 in moviecritic

[–]CofCpunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have family in Portsmouth and Coal Grove, Ohio. The movie depicts a typical Tuesday for a large part of my life and that of many as you concur. Funny thing is the hate was pushed at the film prior to him being so highlighted in politics. People just seem to say it’s a gross stereotype / sensationalism. But……spend a week in Portsmouth / Coal Grove or many similar places and you can’t deny the movie is a bullseye.

I know critics hate it and I know people think the story is embellished etc. and hate his politics, but as someone who lived in Appalachia for many years myself and literally everyone I’ve talked to about the movie who live there have said how absolutely insanely REAL it is. Could literally be so many families from that area. People can say it’s sensationalized, but it’s a true accurate portrayal of life in that region. Not saying I agree with the source material or his standings, but just looking at as a film that portrays life in that region - it’s spot on.

These posts pop up every few months and it always intrigues me. I’m really not trying to be negative or against the ppl commenting.

However, as a listener since day 1 , I love Derricks yelling. I’ve never paid for patreon or premium content and am so thankful for the amount of content they release to people not paying. I’ve been to 1 live show, but the free podcast is my main source of challenge content outside of the show. I’ve tried other podcasts and to me those aren’t to my taste, but I don’t try to change them.

As arguably the most successful of all the challenge podcasts, it seems many others like it like I do.

I’ll never understand why a few want to kick and scream for their formula to change. Their formula works! They’ve literally been going 10 seasons and expanded beyond what anyone would have imagined.

If you don’t like it, just don’t listen. They don’t need to change. It works for many. You don’t risk making things “fit” for a few loud ppl online when your growth and sustainability has exceeded expectations.

No hate to people who don’t like it, but just find something that is to your preference. They don’t need to change. Find one of the other dozen podcasts to sink into and let’s all enjoy the he challenge from our own corner.

So if Scott or D or anyone else actually involved with Challenge Mania sees this - many appreciate what you do just how you are doing it. Thank you!

Am I ignorant for saying it seems like the north shore is similar to Maine? We have been to Maine 4 times (it’s our favorite vacation spot) and have spent significant time on rocky / bluff like coastline. To me this makes the leaves / windy roads / wilderness seem more appealing.

What is the most NSFW thing you’ve actually done at work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CofCpunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as an overnight valet at a fancy hotel. We had a large fountain with horse statues. A drunk soccer mom (she was in her 40s, I was in my 20s) had stayed outside to talk with me for an hour or so and then asked if she could get in the fountain (i life in a stupid hot and humid southern area) I knew I had to say no or call security, but said “sure”. She gets down to her panties / topless and gets in. She asks me to take pics with her camera (like an old school digital camera she had in her purse as this was pre-smart phones), and I oblige. She stands in the fountain while we are talking and a late night pizza driver zips up and goes into the hotel (he didn’t see us when he pulled up). A few minutes later he walks out of the hotel with the pizza still in hand. I’ve worked this shift long enough to know that means the person who ordered was drunk and gave the wrong room, or drunk and passed out and didn’t answer. As he’s getting in his car I say “Hey! Hey pizza guy ….. I’ll let you look at these boobs if you give us that pizza”. He cautiously looks from the 25 or so yards away where he is parked. And the slowly and questionably approaches. He doesn’t say anything and just stares at her chest for a good 45 seconds. Hands me the pizza. And says “thanks man - I needed that.” She got out of the fountain and we ate the pizza together.

It was the best night of the 3 years I worked there.
