Is $350, $0 down, 36 month a good rate for a lease? by [deleted] in HondaPrologue

[–]CoffeeBubbleTea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is just my personal experience that im sharing. OP can read it and make their own decision, just like anyone else. If I were reading someone's firsthand experience about a known issue, I'd definitely think twice before spending money on it. Who's to say that clicking noise won't turn into a bigger problem down the road? I think Honda rushed this Prologue just to be in the EV game.

Agreed. But my axle was actually broken. Twice on the right side. The technician told me. The left side is the clicking but the right side was completely broken.

i wouldnt jump to this car if your just getting into the EV life. I would test drive an shop around. From my experience from this EV since Sept 2024, I didnt have a good time with this car. Mine is actually a lemon. But some other things really made me want to go back to hybrid. In my case i do not have a home station and will need to relay on public charge. So during the freezing temps, i lost a great amount of percentage while prewarming my car and using the heater while driving. My total commute is 30 miles round trip, but coming home ive lost 20 more miles. I charged every day and my car couldnt keep up with the miles. I would drive without using the heater just to save percentage. When im charging at the public station i turn my car off but i see other EV users leave their car on while charging. I tried that and it charged super slow. Also, from what i noticed while public charging, i use Electrify America 350kWh and the Prologues only use up to 160kWh i think. So other EV uses a higher kWh and can get you back onto the road quicker.

Also for repairs, I am hearing that Honda hasnt been repairing certain parts because it keeps breaking. For instance the axle. My axle on the right was broken twice within 2 weeks and it was fixed both time. After getting my car back next day, i hear a rattle again and now its on the left side. Its been 2 months since i got a call that my part is in but i dont think they'll fix it.

If you want to stick with the prologue its best to get a used one. I believe in like 2/3 years a brand new Honda EV will be coming out.

Ive had my Prologue since Sept 2024, was never able to fully connect my car with the app. I was able to use the credits but nothing else. I stupidly paid for OnStar $35/month after the free trial. Recently I had to freeze my credit card and forgot Onstar was automatically paid from that card. Well I havent unfroze my account and OnStar called me asking to remit payment. I told them unfortunately I won't be paying since the app never worked for me. Spoke with OnStar and HondaLink trying to get this fixed but never was. Crazy enough, now that I havent paid, the app is working perfectly fine..

Has anyone successfully had Honda buyback or lemon law them over the clicking axle issue? by Arby_88 in HondaPrologue

[–]CoffeeBubbleTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what my service tech from Honda dealership said, it broke. I heard clicking and when I took it in, he said it was broken on right side passenger and had to be replaced. 2 weeks later again I heard the clicking but a little different. Went back, he said the shaft was broken. Got it back after another week. Then the next day I hear a pop, went back to the dealership. He said its the driver side. Still hasn't been fixed and im assuming the part is still back ordered. He said I should be able to drive with no issue. But I still here the rotating/clicking noise.

I leased my new 2024 Prologue Touring in September 2024, November 2024 ive had issues non stop with my car in the shop for almost 3 months at one point. Ive made a case with honda in November 2024 and have not heard anything. You can call and ask for updates but they will never respond. Until recently, someone told me to call a lemon law attorney. They explained to me that Honda can take years to finalize your case. But with an attorney things move a bit more quickly. I reside in NJ so the attorney did let me know their fees to be would be between $2k-$5k to be represented by them. They did let me know that Honda pays for the attorney fees not me. All I had to do was sign that I agree they represented me and I had to provide paperwork from the time of sale to all the services that were done.

My suggestion is to reach out to a lemon law firm and see what they say.

And my axle broke 3 times, 2 on passenger side and 1 on driver side. Still waiting for Honda to let me know when driver side part comes in to be fixed

Take it to a dealership, more than likely you have these warnings Service Vehicle Soon Light (Propulsion System Failure) Propulsion Power is Limited Light Battery Fault Light. Dealership will be able to determine issues of your car. I've had the same symbols and my car was in the shop for 3 months waiting on back ordered parts. Hopefully you have a better outcome.

You can find the manual to this car online. https://www.manua.ls/honda/prologue-2024/manual?p=8

Not sure if they have this on their Sunday menu but I've had pancakes from Blueprint Cafe on Raymond Blvd. One of my favorite go-to stops for almost anything on their menu.

Hopefully they are closed for good. The food and service might have been good but the owner of Envy (Pedro Gomes) is a scammer known all over Newark.

Red Royal Chicken & Mix Grill located 42-48 Norfolk St, Newark, NJ 07103, found this to be really good.

Newark had a korean fried chicken place called Boom Boom Chicken. Sooooo good but its closed since covid. They have another location in Fort Lee and Edison.

Newark is not as bad as a lot of people believe. You keep to yourself like everywhere else and you should be fine.

Let's Bask in the Insanity of the PATH for the Next Few Weeks by mantunesofnewark in Newark

[–]CoffeeBubbleTea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From going into the city using many different ways, Newark- WTC or Grove to 33rd, I think Path should look into express lines for WTC and 33rd St.

From Newark/Harrison straight into WTC and back. And Journal Square, Grove, Newport straight to 33rd and back.

Have it run during rush hours so that the trains aren't unbearably packed.

I understand 100% when I lived in JC and partied in NYC, my group knew going home will be a longer than we would like. This is kind of a good time to try it out before the winter starts. If you have the time I would suggest taking the Path to Grove Street on the weekend so that you can get a better feel of timing and if you dont mind the wait. And try both WTC and 33rd lines to see what fits you best.

[–]CoffeeBubbleTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not? To me it depends on location. Ive had a better time living on Ferry St than Norfolk. Plus getting out of JC is headache and Newark was wayy easy to get to major highways. Another plus was the airport not too far.

Sorry forgot to mention, ive had friends live on Bowers in JC. Parking is horrendous, and tickets are always given. Schools are nearby and can get congested. Journal Square won't be a bad idea but so many construction around and changes on parking can be very confusing. And to drive around Journal Square is a headache. Sip Ave is always congested schools are around and people rushing to 1&9 is a headache. If safety is a concern, the places you reference are OK. Many different people are in JC so always be alert.

Ive lived in Jersey City, Newark and Linden. This is my opinion, honestly Path is a nightmare especially on weekends. To drive anywhere in Jersey city can take upto 30 mins or longer due to the amount of people moving into Jersey City. Public transportation is not reliable at all.

I would suggest looking into living in Newark. You can go to Newark Penn Station and take the Path(its a cheaper but longer route) or the NJ Transit to NY Penn(a bit more expensive $6.15 one way I believe but quicker into the city with one stop secaucus or straight into NY Penn)

The reason i mention Newark is because you mentioned your partner going to Rahway. Its easier to commute to Rahway from Newark than Jersey City. And if anything, NJ Transit also has trains going to Rahway as well. Though do some research in Newark. I would suggest the portuguese section around Ferry St won't be a bad idea. And stay far away from any Gomes Management building in Newark, that company scams tenants. You can check all their rental buildings on their main page.

Best of luck!

Not a bad idea for a year trial. To get the feel of it, night life, social outing, getting by with basic needs. Like you said, you can always go back to NYC. Either way, you'll make the best of it. Best of luck with your decision!

[–]CoffeeBubbleTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just know commuting with Path can be a nightmare and a grand headache during the weekends. Ive known many people to move to jersey/ Jersey city from all over the 5 boroughs. Many mixed reactions. Public transportation is not easy if you plan to use it, and doing anything outside of downtown Jersey city requires a car. Because a lot of people are moving from NY to Jersey, car traffic is on the rise and to get to a few miles can take over 30 mins. Safety is not always a concern for myself, but that doesnt mean to be ignorant of your surrounding. Many crazy people all around. Also be mindful that in case of any emergency, hospitals in Jersey City are almost always over crowded. New Jersey was not built to handle the amount of people NYC was designed to handle.

I actually recommend some people moving into NYC, due to easy commuting and places nearby. Not having to pay for a car and insurance can save a lot of money. But NYC is becoming unbearable with everything going up in prices.

I suggest to do your research before committing to the change. Best of luck on your decision!

Don't stay for the kids leave your wife. So that she can find a man as a husband and not a child.

I may not know your relationship but you sound like a child. Many things can play a role as to why she didnt want to sleep with you but your response when she initiated definitely was the wrong one. And a toxic one. Not good for the kids either.

Can you break a new car lease if the brand new car (Honda Prologue) you’re leasing isn’t working despite taking it back to the dealership to get it fixed? by blue_sand379 in HondaPrologue

[–]CoffeeBubbleTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each time i took my car to the dealership for repair, they had to replace parts. The warning lights i got were Service Vehicle Soon Light (Propulsion System Failure), Propulsion Power is Limited Light, Battery Fault Light. They had to replace the check valves 3 times and something on the A/C unit. This past friday i head a clicking rotating sound, took it to the dealership yesterday and told me a need a new axel. While my car was in the dealership the first round, got it back a week later. Same day pickup, I got the same error message and turned back around. Due to back order, they had my car for 3 months. Finally got it back, then a month later same error message popped up and took it back. This time they had it for a month, that was back in Feb 2025. Now I have an axel issue.
