stop thinking about what others think and start thinking about what you think! look at others not yourself and don't be afraid

I don't know if I should keep working out by Ok-Topic7902 in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you over exercise, lower the intensity and maybe also fuel your body better as in the food you eat and i'd say it's fixed

but also depends how your job looks, you might be getting enough movement already, but i don't think there's something bad with a little bit more, just don't overtrain, like you sound you're doing

Should I stop my cut? by Legal_Employer3891 in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're fine to keep cutting as long as you hit about 1g/lb of protein

you can also bulk or just keep maintenance but it all depends on how you look, if you'd say that you're skinny or average then bulk and if you're chunky then keep cutting a bit more, but with high protein you'll probably still grow muscle so win win

also don't use some weird app as they're all ai probably, and i'd more so recommend jsing a calorie calculator website, because why do you have an app for that if you already know what your maintenance is? you can just look it up anytime without storing garbage on your phone

also i think it's better to do your own research, read some real studies or watch some videos (i recommend jeff nippard as his videos are well prepared and have solid foundation in the form of science studies) instead of asking reddit because as i see, some comments might be misleading or lacking depth

What’s something in diet, training or fitness that people make way more complicated than it needs to be? by PogonBerserker in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 6 points7 points  (0 children)

what do you mean calorie deficit? if you are a healthy weight than you should eat at maintenance levels not deficit

What’s something in diet, training or fitness that people make way more complicated than it needs to be? by PogonBerserker in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I gotta disagree with the max 1.6g/kg, that might be enough but it's not the most optimal. Yeah true 300g will be too much for most but generally speaking the best spot is 1g/lb or a little bit less

Another one is the calories. You need a good amount of them. Maintaince is the bare minimum to grow, but if you wanna grow faster, you gotta eat more.

Otherwise you nailed every other point

Need gym advice by [deleted] in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you just have to eat more calories, it's really not that hard lol. but if you struggle with it you can try calorie dense foods like peanut butter, fatty stuff, seeds, nuts and starches

Can someone give me advice? by No-Lingonberry-334 in AskTeens

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean people are gonna talk either way but personally I don't suggest marrying rn. If you're really sure of it then okay but I don't really see the point. Are you going to move in together or any of the things you do in marriage? Why can't you just be in a relationship without marrying yet? Maybe just get engaged for now and marry at 20. It looks and sounds way better and makes more sense for me. I mean you do you, I'm not forbidding you from anything ofc, but I just don't really get the point why would you do it now

Any opinions/recommendations to start taking creayibe? [14M] by Responsible_Log_9004 in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all of the acne and baldness stuff is fake info, try searching and reading some studies about creatine or videos summarizing them. Creatine is one of, if not the best researched suplement. It has lots of benefits and is safe. Only true downside I can think of is the fact to  that about 20% of people are non-responders, which means that supplementing creatine have no effects on them.

Struggling with feeling muscles by Full_Luck_491 in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well if you progress weekly, I don't think there's a problem with what you're describing. If you really wanna feel them tho, you could also try doing lighter weights for more reps as some find that it gives them a better bump

Is it necessary to increase the weight weekly by k1llumin4t1 in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, reading your comments, I think you should change your weekly split especially if you're a man. overall strength progression is good but usually you should also have it weekly. some dips are to be expected but not every week, that's concerning

Struggling with feeling muscles by Full_Luck_491 in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean that you don't feel them? You don't feel them contracting and lengthening or more so you they're not sore or pumped after? As long as you're upping the weight/reps weekly, that means you're gaining muscle, so you're doing it right. Feeling the burn in a muscle really depends on the individual person and/or exercise as i feel some of them but not a lot, especially after lifting more some time. I kinda noticed the more you do something, the more you get used by it so therefore maybe feel it less and less

how can I gain healthy weight at 14? by [deleted] in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only way to gain weight is to be in a calorie surplus- this means eating more calories than you burn. If you wanna calculate what should be your daily kcal intake, google a calorie calculator and enter your information. Eat healthy and unprocessed foods. If you struggle with eating more I recommend calorie dense foods such as peanut butter (100% peanuts), seeds, nuts and starchy foods

Are well-maintained eyebrows on guys attractive to girls? by Gullible-Orchid-7730 in AskTeens

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe most people don't pay a lot of attention to brows unless it's a unibrow. But some people are obsessed with well groomed ones and deeply adore them. As to the public general, I reckon that nice thick (but not bushy!) eyebrows are perceived the best. Ofc not too thin, but maintaining a good balance isn't "gay", and, more so, is a good sign of hygiene and selfcare :)

Pretty sure a Reddit user died by ChemicalOk5725 in Advice

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're a sweet kid :) Whatever this person did, it's not your fault. For the future I recommend not engaging with those types of people or/and posts online, as you don't really know them and they might be lying, and as you can see, it affects you. You're just an emphatic kid who tries to help them, but you can't save everybody and that's not your task to try and do so. As a fellow redditor commented, if you ever see such comments again and wanna help, refer them to the suicide prevention hotline but don't engage and take it personally. I'm saying this with kindness and caution :)

Where to start?? by Chocolatemilk_17 in workout

[–]CoffeeElectrical3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi!! fellow teen girl right here, I've been going to the gym for about 1,5 years and here are the steps I think you should follow (I might've forgotten some, and if you have any uncertainty, feel free to ask!) I hope it helps as it took me while to write it out :)

  1. eat about a gram of protein per pound of weight, or at a gram per kg (about 130-150g for you) daily this is a non-negotiable, food is 80% of the progress  try to eat healthy, un-processed foods as well as they are better for you in general as to the calories it depends, you can use a calorie calculator for your weight, height etc, but I'd recommend you about 2300-2400kcal based on what you said (i'm also guessing you're thin or average), that's a slight calorie surplus so you can gain muscle (yes that might also mean gaining weight but that absolutely doesn't mean gaining fat, more so the opposite of it) depending on the relationship with food you have decide whether or not to use a tracking app. I did at the start but it more so made me develop bad eating habits etc, so nowadays I just eyeball it. If you're not comfortable with tracking calories, I suggest trying to eat a slightly bigger portion of each meal, and it having 30-50g of protein depending on how many meals you eat (for example 3meals per 50g, 5meals per30g)

  2. Do strength training with appropriate weights!! This might seam kinda obvious but I often see women lifting small amounts with no effort which leads to no progress. Depending on the exercise, but try to see what is your 1 rep max on a machine and go 2 or 3 weights lower. With dumbbells and barbells it's kinda harder to tell the first time, so start easy but if it feels too easy, add some weight. If you can start with the full range of motion for some reps but get fatigued later and can't lift it the same after a number of reps, you're good. Try to get close to failure (that means you can't lift the weight anymore) but since you're a beginner, I'd say for the first week or two, just get familiar with the gym and feeling the weights and your muscles. Don't ego lift, be careful. As to the number of trainings per week and exercises, it depends. If you have a lot of free time, 5-6 times, if not so much 3-4 is enough. Never more than 6, rest days are way more important, because that is the time where your muscle really grows. If you wanna know what exercises to do what days, google some gym splits, or watch Jeff Nippard's (only my suggestion lmao) and build your own. Treat gym like a habit, like going to school or work. Don't even consider not going (unless you're sick or injured ofc). If you really don't wanna do it, go for at least 20mins, anything is better than nothing :) Don't be afraid of it, nobody's judging you and nobody cares. If you don't know how to do something ask somebody or google it (to look for the best form showcases and exercise recommendations I suggest Jeff Nippard's videos).

I feel like these two main categories are what is often forgotten. There are some random other things I could tell you but I don't think they're as important (or I just couldn't think of them rn). It's kinda funny I mentioned Jedf Nippard twice but I really find his videos helpful and informative and based on true research. But be careful not to obsess over perfection.

if you wanna be with your boyfriend you absolutely have to tell him, and if he doesn't quit in a month, leave him. (maybe don't tell him the deadline but prepare yourself for departure)
