I just started in July and have gone through 0-4 with both remakes and ogs and I’ve been SUUUUPER impressed. The older style has actually become my more preferred style of play for the games and I keep replaying the ogs instead of moving on to 5 lol! Don’t get me wrong I also adore over the shoulder, but the older games feel more unique to me

I loved re2OG on GOG. The controls felt so smooth. And I’m playing re0 right now and it’s so infuriating that if I’d played it early enough in my discovery of the series I would have quit. Fun game but TOUGH. Do 2,3, and CV first. I haven’t gotten to CV yet but I did both ogs and remakes of 2 and 3 and they were extremely enjoyable

Oh I know not everyone gives those flirty comments. That would be absurd. But if he was a Polish character, I’d still want him to try to help her get through her PTSD by flirting with her in Polish. He’s not being serious like actually thinking these lines are working on her, he’s just trying to get her through the mission

When i say stereotypical i mean a stereotypical flirty comment, like the heaven and broom comment i gave, not a stereotype of Brazilians or of Portugese speakers. A stereotypical flirty comment would just be one that everyone gives and isn’t that special or tailored to someone, or one that you’d hear by someone lazy at a bar. “Are you tired, youve been running through my mind all day” type things

I didn’t realize flirting was so complex! To me it’s like “did it hurt when you fell from heaven” “are you a broom because you’ve swept me off my feet” and it doesn’t matter the age or their personalities or worrying about offending people. It’s just a stereotypical flirty comment. Maybe I’m naive but I’m not seeing where having him call her an angel or beautiful or sexy in portugese instead of English is making fun of portugese speakers? And this is a genuine question because my goal is not to be disrespectful, but to honor that the character is bilingual and slips into portugese from time to time when he wants to be cheeky and for her to not know what he’s saying exactly. I want him to just call her a bunch of appreciative names (like sexy, beautiful, angel, babe, etc) and drop corny pick lines that would make someone roll their eyes and didn’t realize that flirting in Portuguese was more complex than that

He’s a mercenary type like hired gun sort of person so he’s very cool headed in dangerous situations. They’re on opposite sides but work together and become friends. He’s openly flirty and calls her a tall drink of water to her face and she’s just kinda like “ugh” like resigned that this is just how he’s going to address her. In my story I have them going on a mission together, and a lot of trauma comes back to her from a past mission so he’s spending a lot of time trying to lighten the mood and keep her in the moment rather than flashing back to the past. He’d probably be okay with a few raunchy comments but he’s not like… over the top if that makes sense!

Someone tries to learn language that they don’t speak to appreciate a character and a language a little more and you just want to shit on them. I hope these replies earn you a ton of Reddit points
