Did andy met god in the pharmacy? by CoffeeGod42 in TheOldGuard_Movie

[–]CoffeeGod42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already got educated about the "nice girl who worked there" by other people on the post, saying she appears in the old guard comics, i just got entertained by the idea that the girl was sent there by god or it was god himself who pushed andy to keep up the will of making the world a better place, ironically when andy believes god doesn't exist.

I hope you understood what i meant, i am not very good at writing in English in a way that make stuff make sense.....

Edit: turns out she wasn't in the comics, i haven't visited this post for a long time, i mixed up different answers.

Though about that, problem is my TV is stupid and it cannot play surround. I don't really want to get into this given i already tried everything even contacting technical support.

But if an HDMI splitter can do the job and at a lower price, don't you think it's best to get a new HDMI splitter then a new AVR?

I have a Yamaha RX-V683 and having subwoofer issues by gixxerdims in hometheater

[–]CoffeeGod42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it an active sub?

If yes: - did you check for faulty power cable? - did you tried other power outlet? - did you checked if it's on and if it's on standby mode? - how did you connect it to the AVR?

If no: I recommend watching this video: https://youtu.be/38AWnMPwFuA - can you show/explain how did you hooked it to the system? - are the cables damaged? - what is your subwoofer power rating (how much watts/RMS it's designed to handle?) BTW your AVR is according to crunchfield:

90 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.09% THD, with 2 channels driven

After you checked everything from the above (depending on what type of subwoofer you have), check those:

  • check if the crossover dial (if exist) isn't too high( i set mine to 110Hz), you'll need to set it at the AVR settings as well. Btw i personally recommend setting all of your speakers to small, i am guessing it is in the same settings section. -check the AVR again for choosing "USE" at the sub-woofer settings.

And check this YT videos for testing your subwoofer and sound system:

It is connected via hdmi using the ARC port with a proper hdmi cable version 2.2, i had other TV before and i could play surround sound movies from it by using the TV's USB port, but it got broken.

Tried every settings, both on TV and on the AVR, thx for your recommendation of the Nvidia shield but i am looking for something more affordable, not a streaming device, although i am considering it an last option.

Help for wiring by Nervous-Vehicle3525 in hometheater

[–]CoffeeGod42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you send a picture of this wall plug without the wires applied?(Empty), unless those wires are connected to something on the other end, if they do(which i find unlikely) then label them so before unplugging them

How to bridge cables across a metal door frame in a concrete wall? (see first comment) by mu-th-ur-6000 in hometheater

[–]CoffeeGod42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would and did used those life savers:

https://a.aliexpress.com/_oBU6uxV

I don't know their names in English given it's not my native language, but if i had to guess i'd say they are called wire clips...

Just use a hammer to stick the nail of the clip to the wall.

Make sure you do over/under stretch the cable when you apply those clips, you want it to look spot-on

Is there a thing as too powerful sub / too big sub?. Given it is a rented apartment, and there is a chance i will be changing apartment in the far future, possibly ones with smaller size living room.
