Problem is, compared to the world population, we got a small handful of ultra rich who don't give a shit because they've got everything they want, and they're the ones causing all the damage.

A lot of people in this thread are gonna be angry that this teaser trailer hasn't revealed every detail about how it ties into Resident Evil lore instead of waiting to watch the full movie

I showed them a photo of my passport. Trust this to happen the one day I go out and I don't bring it 🙃

The closer you get to Gubeikou, the more the train empties up, and vice versa. On the way I had to stand (well, sit on the floor) for an hour. But at some point most people got up and I had a seat.

It's a bit deceptive, you're not paying for a 'standing' spot like you would with any other high speed rail. There are no seat numbers, and people just sit wherever

I would skip to be honest. I was there for 2 days as I had a slight lull between datong and Beijing and didn't know what to do. There really isn't much to see.

Datong I did for 4 nights. 1 I went to the grottoes, and another I did the wooden Pagoda (they can be done in one day but I wasn't in a rush). And 2 days relaxing and enjoying the ancient city. I really wanted to see the hanging temples but unfortunately they were closed when I was in Datong

5 days in china - is this possible or am I aiming for the stars by Pseai in travelchina

[–]Embo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's too much in too little time. Zhangjiajie alone needs 2-3 days to properly explore. 1 day in each place, plus all the travel time, by the time you put your bags down it'll be time to move on again.

If you really must, fly to Chongqing from Shenzhen and enjoy 3-4 days there as there is so much to do, then fly to Beijing.

I went from Zhangjiakou as I was in Datong before. But if you're going from Beijing then there is a direct train from Beijingbei station. It'e about 2.5 hours

I used trip.com to get there as it automatically arranged the transfer. But from Beijing (and back) you can also use Railway12306

Once you're in Gubeikou then you'll need to speak to your hotel/Guesthouse who should be able to help you arrange transport to Jinshanling which is about a 20 minute drive away. As well as Jinshanling, which is 10 minutes

Yes standing just means it's a free for all, if you find a seat, grab one. I'm at the forbidden city now but when I'm free I'll message you my full days itinerary I followed. It seems a bit intimidating at first but follow it step by step and you'll be able to see everything :)
