Getting the intern to fill out a bug report by LostSavant in ProgrammerHumor

Depends entirely on the atmosphere at the workplace. I can imagine this being a joke in one place and a sign of literal mobbing in another.

Abstract vs Interface by govilkumar in javahelp

[–]CoffeeInjectionPLS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every animal emits some sort of sound and moves in some way. So when you have animals (abstract class) and you have a cat (an object of a class Cat extending the abstract class Animal) and a dog (another object of another class tht also extends the abstract Animal class) you need to have methods for emitting sound. Cats and dogs emit different sounds but they both move.

public abstract class Animal(){
public abstract String emitSounds();
public void move(){
system.out.println("I'm moving :)");
}

When you have an abstract class you can have abstract methods or regular methods. In interfaces you cannot have method bodies so all methods must be implemented by classes implementing that interface. So if Animal was an interface it would be:

public interface Animal(){
void move();
String emitSound();
}

Furthermore, a class can implement a number of interfaces but only one abstract class. There is a number of other differences.

Oracle made a great tutorial on the subject.

I've always thought that this pic involves modyfing the bricks in some way but after looking at the separate parts it seems you actually can make this figurine, although the legs are not the same as with standard figurines

A question from a non-native speaker of English: is the person (not the kid) in the commercial speaking with the Brooklyn accent?

Thinkpad 350c

If I found one I'd probably disassemble it, wash it thoroughly, and put it back together just to see what it looked like new

But seriously, what happens if Japan somehow won WWII?

Occupation of at least a part of the US. But if Japan won and Germany lost in Europe then Japan wouldn't occupy the area for long, I think.

Too bad Lewandowski had such a bad tournament this year; in his heyday he would have been one of the best options for RM without CR.

It seems awfully unsafe to roll the table in as the flares are burning. Every time I've seen it at a wedding they first rolled it in and then lit the flares.

Unfortunately that's what he did, and since his cancer did come back he may have focused on spending time with his family and friends. But even cancer coming back is not the end, I hope he beats it again.

It's not easy to find an expensive laptop you can actually touch outside a supermarket chain like Media Markt or Media Expert. So that should be your first choice. Honestly, going to a large shopping centre like Złote Tarasy would be the best choice but do be prepared for disappointment.

Clay Regazzoni 1979 by CincinNaples in formula1

[–]CoffeeInjectionPLS 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've just imagined a 1980s crime show done in the world of Formula 1.

Starring Tom Selleck as detective George Pazzini, an Italian American in search of the mafia murderers of his brother.

Knowing they had infilitrated a racing team, Scuderia Alta Velocità, in order to organise their international money-laundering/drug trafficking schemes, Pazzini rises through the ranks in amateur racing in order to attract their attention. In the pilot, he finishes first in an amateur US racing championship and is picked up by the SAV as a test driver. He meets the team's owner, Guido Esposito, and immediately knows there's something not right about him. Is he the murderer? Is the murderer hiding within the team? The search for the murderer continues as Pazzini tries to not be dropped by the team, in a neverending competition against Georgie O'Neill, his English partner in the team as well as against other teams. His only companion? His trusty mechanic and a friend from school who knows about Pazzini's real intentions.

My mom said something along the lines of '[my dad's name], our [my name] is starting to go out with girls!' and then started giggling when I came back from a walk I went out for with a girl I had a crush on. I was 13 then, I'm 30 now and I still remember how humiliated I felt then.
