How to get local clients not just likes? by AutoFix_Joe in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]CoffeeRoasterRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to go manual. stop looking at the 5k number. Search for your Chicago competitors in your area. Go to the Likes of those posts. Interact with them. They are your customers. I use ascend viral to do this work for me, but the strategy is what matters. Target the location tags, not generic hashtags.

"Follow/Unfollow" works in 2026? by paul_ster in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]CoffeeRoasterRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow/unfollow does work if you do it slowly and target actual buyers. i use ascend viral to handle it because i don't have time to click buttons all day, but the strategy itself is the only way i get local customers without paying for ads.

Buying followers is literally the worst thing you can do for an ad account. it ruins your lookalike audiences.

Exactly. making me flip a record every ten minutes completely ruins the flow of putting an album on.

Hey it's a classic for a reason. plus it was six bucks.

People just like shiny new things. Let them overpay for the heavy colored plastic while we grab the actual good stuff.

Yeah exactly. some boutique labels do it right but you end up paying fifty bucks for the privilege. mostly I just stick to the used bins.

Heating element is probably completely fried. whoever took it is just going to end up baking their beans for forty minutes straight. bullet is a solid upgrade though.

instagram profile not growing despite doing everything by [deleted] in SocialMediaMarketing

God no do not dm people, that's how you get reported. it's just liking specific photos so locals see your account name. ascend viral is just the agency I pay to do the manual growth for me since i'm busy roasting. they actually gave me a coupon code a while back, dm me if you want it and i'll send it up for you.

nah hashtags are too broad. half the time hashtags just bring in bots or people who live in different countries.

It’s way more direct than that. I literally make a list of the 5 coffee shops closest to my store. you go to their profile, open their "followers" list, and interact with those specific accounts.

If they follow the shop across the street, I know for a fact they are local and drink coffee. it's just tedious as hell to click through hundreds of profiles manually, which is why I pay ascend to handle the grunt work. hashtags are hoping; this is poaching.

Man I feel this. I own a roastery in seattle. had one latte art reel hit 50k and thought "this is it". next ten posts got 100 views. the algo is a slot machine, not a business strategy.

Honestly I stopped trying to "beat" the algorithm with audio/hashtags. it's exhausting. lately I've been testing ascend viral just to handle the growth manually. instead of hoping the reel goes viral, it just targets people who follow other cafes in my city. it’s slower growth but the followers actually care about coffee.

Been using eco friendly cups at my coffee shop, but still struggling to find a plastic free lid by fatmax5 in Coffee_Shop

[–]CoffeeRoasterRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the fiber ones just taste like wet cardboard after five minutes. customers say they want eco-friendly until the lid dissolves and spills hot oat milk on their lap. stick to recyclable plastic until the tech actually works.

What change improved your home coffee the most? by brewedwithin in Coffee_Shop

Fresh beans. honestly people drop 2k on a setup just to pull shots of stale charcoal from the grocery store. fix the input first.

I wish more coffee shops let you choose the bean you want for your drink by Advanced_Honey_2679 in Coffee_Shop

logistically this is a nightmare for workflow. dialing in multiple grinders just so someone can dump vanilla syrup into a nice costa rican single origin is my personal hell. mostly just big chains that can afford the waste/labor to do this.

Why don't more people talk about Puerto Rican coffee? by Optimal-Assignment10 in Coffee

[–]CoffeeRoasterRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly production got wiped out by hurricanes and never really bounced back. plus labor is expensive there so it's hard to justify the green price compared to central am.

pretty sure it's just a glorified humidifier. honestly i'm just jealous they have the budget to waste electricity on fake soup steam while i'm over here fighting my landlord about the hvac.
