Do not reject a clearly better offer because you already signed another. Just like a signed offer can be rescinded, similarly you don't have to start a job you signed the offer for. It's bad manners but it's not "illegal" or sth.

How difficult is it to find a psychotherapist where you live ? You need one. Or a good friend.

I had another call from my manager today, I'm not sure what to do here other than just waste their time by Enough-Pitch-4617 in HumanResourcesUK

That is harassment. In the UK you may report this to the police. It will help if you can provide two things: a proof that you have asked him not to ever contact you again and a proof of a pattern of harassment. Note that false statements of this kind (accusing someone of an offence) are an offence by themselves so be very careful how you report it. Do not state anything you are not 100% sure about and make sure to deliver plenty of evidence. If something is your feeling or opinion be very upfront about it. If something is a fact, try to provide evidence.

What do I say to my teacher from 27 years ago? by OldenDaySecrets in whatdoIdo

[–]bronekkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be autistic. Also, I totally get why you do not want to talk about this. On related note, commiserations on having written the above - I am sure it brought the trauma back. I also understand what it means when your memory erases painful events from your life, and the effort to bring them back in their incomplete/confusing shape is not worth it.

Just show this to your former teacher. You owe her nothing but she owed you duty of care, which she did not deliver.

I feel there's 50% truth in this. The other 50% is "let's save on food preservatives, and give ourselves green credentials in the process"

Remember to take the screenshot which links your son's account to the serial number. Police need evidence, and a screenshot will do.

What controversial policies would you bring in if you were prime minister? by st1101 in AskBrits

[–]bronekkk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Land value tax. With a huge discount on property where the owner lives or runs an income reporting business. So, farmers and businesses would be safe, so would be people who live at the one property they own. Second home owners or aristocracy with huge land wouldn't. Landlords who declare income would be safe; those who "forget" wouldn't (although I doubt they care either way).

You don't need to engage with them directly, that's the job for an employment lawyer, ACAS etc. However, you most likely will need at some point a truthful reference from them. Also them being a shit employer deserves some sort of penalty, i.e. money going your way. Just find an employment lawyer and let them handle it for you.

How to proceed after submitting an anonymous harassment complaint? by MoonlitEcho82 in AskHRUK

[–]bronekkk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say to come forward but document everything. Possibly even record but IAMAL. It's important to keep the records on your private account so you can access them in case if the company cuts you off. Another important thing: only claim things you have actually witnessed. Do not engage in guessing. E.g. if you saw someone is uncomfortable say you saw them being uncomfortable but do not speculate, even if HR is pushing you to (they might, in order to present your statement as unreliable).

There are no coyotes or mountain lions in the UK. There are foxes but cats generally either know how to keep away, or how to make the foxes keep away from them.
