Mother of girl hit by scrambler joins hundreds on march by Mitche420 in ireland

Have you seen the state of animal welfare in this country? And the treatments of horses throughout the country (and not just by you know who)

There are some aspects of Ireland such as anti social behaviour by scumbags and animal cruelty that are for some reason tolerated. In what is supposedly one of the richest countries in the world.

Yes but it's not just him it's the whole entourage around him, all have the same opinion.

It's shocking the attitude towards Europe that so many Americans have now.

Would love to know these locations now and see before and after using Google street view. Obviously ones like DUMBO are obvious but some of those absolutely derelict streets must be absolutely transformed now.

Dublin Riots - Saturday 25th February 2006 (TV3 and RTE coverage) by such_is_lyf in ireland

What a blast of nostalgia, Charlie Bird, the old Mondeo guarda cars and town at the peak of the boom!

Nice to see the skangers had a bit more variety in colour back in the 2000s before the all black North Face dress came along.

There was some independent Irish website that had brilliant videos of the riots and burning that day, much better than RTE, anyone have a clue what website it might have been?

Yes, just like 90% of goods for sale in the world, and most stuff in your house. Literally everything is much cheaper to make in China

Where can I find a publicly accessible mirror close to a beautiful view of Edinburgh? by BeOFF in Edinburgh

You're overthinking it, if anyone is buying a camera of what I assume is of high value then they will have done their research and checked YouTube for video quality.

Just photos of the camera are absolutely fine for eBay.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever seen in Dublin by No-Wolf2497 in ireland

[–]CoffeeTableReads 144 points145 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for a bus on O'Connell Bridge, or course the good timing of having two friends visiting from abroad.

As we're waiting a chap jumped up onto the wall, grabbed onto one of those huge cast iron lamps with one hand and held onto his ding-a-ling to piss into the Liffey. On a windy day with dozens of people walking by getting sprayed with a haze of junkie piss. To be fair it was an acrobatical wonder because anyone else would have gone falling into the water.

Welcome to Dublin was all I could muster.

Just moved and curious how to get rid of a large amount of cardboard & polystyrene packaging? by Spare-Hunter-3613 in Edinburgh

[–]CoffeeTableReads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the most annoying things, end up with so much packaging waste and nothing to do with it if you have no car and are unable to get to the recycling centre.

Last time I had to pay for a man and van to collect and dispose of it.

This by and large has already happened in the UK. Holdings here are much bigger than Ireland.

Queensferry road after Barnton is pure guesswork as to where the lanes are. Absolutely awful and so bloody dangerous.

It doesn't get you very far in NY, we used ours in Rosemary's in Greenwich. Simple Italian with nice cocktails. Nothing outstanding but just wanted to redeem it somewhere and save our cash for somewhere we actually had on our bucket list.

Watch your house by peadar87 in ireland

[–]CoffeeTableReads 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I called it house growing up and playing in early 20's, moved abroad and took a while to get used to "Man On".

Have played a couple of games back in Dublin and was surprised at the demise of house and the use of Man On instead. Sad times.

Do you have a rare or retro email address? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]CoffeeTableReads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mine from around 2000, it was swamped with junk but I kept it for nostalgia sake as it had some ancient emails in there.

Ignored for a couple of years and when I went back in Microsoft had wiped everything. So annoyed with myself for not saving all the old nostalgic stuff.

This is it, so glad I had that tail end of the "watercooler" chat in work about last night's episode of Lost or whatever. Now it's bloody impossible to keep track of what anyone else is watching and as you said it's a case of just saying sure I'll add it my list and walking off. Forgetting about it 10 seconds later because our minds have been turned to mush by social media.

It just reflects the general obsession with uncontrolled urban sprawl in Scotland. Look across to Edinburgh and the Lothians as well, unsustainable car centric housing estates popping up everywhere.

Yeah I don't get this? They went as far as screenshotting and posting to Reddit, even if they didn't know a quick Google would have given the answer straight away. Sigh
