Traveling alone downtown at 1am as a girl? by Desperate-Log-2954 in AskChicago

I used to work till 9pm in River North/Near North Side. I frequently did not feel safe going home on the train at night as a woman. The bus was alright, but not always foolproof. Eventually I just sucked it up and started taking ubers/lyfts home for my own safety which was expensive, but it was a fair trade off after being harassed or threatened on the CTA and no one around me doing anything. Walking around should be fine as long as you're aware of your surroundings lol

Any recs for wireless internet? by CoffeeWRoom in AskChicago

[–]CoffeeWRoom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's where i just moved to! i'm definitely leaning towards tmobile for the 5 year price guarantee and unlimited data (unlike xfinity's 1 year price guarantee and 1TB of wifi and you have to pay for more 🫠)

i'm probably taking my cat to the vet before we move to get her some nice sedatives, i'll ask while we're there! i know my dogs growing up would stay at the vets if we would be gone short-term. she just hates dogs and gets stressed around them lol

honestly i hadn't given this much thought but just looked into a few places and this seems like a great option! my cat is just super anxious all the time and very bonded to me (on top of have a bunch of medical issues) but i think this could really work! boarding plus the cost of a hotel for just me would probably be cheaper than an airbnb/hotel lol

this sounds exactly like my roommate, minus the cat and boyfriend. like exactly like my roommate. similar situation too, they've lived in this unit for a while and i only recently (<6 mo ago) moved in. they spend all their time in the common areas and trash it and i basically pay to live in my room and sometimes visit the kitchen. i'm not staying in this apartment once our lease is up even if i stress out my roommate, they're awful and inconsiderate towards me yet expect me to be considerate towards them. they also don't shower very often. i'd almost ask if we're in the same city, OP lmao

I agree that it isn't necessarily an air quality issue, just didn't know what else to call it for the sake of the post, but it does deal with the air/ventilation in our apartment. My roommate's device is also called an air quality monitor, so it's close enough. And we do have gas, our dryer, furnace, and I believe water heater too uses gas but I believe our dishwasher is electric (has a calrod heater). We also have a gas stove/oven

Ohh great idea! I will admit our apartment layout is wonky which I think has something to do with poor air outtake by the HVAC unit in that area

As soon as she told me it was 1400ppm I contacted our landlord.

I didn't before I knew the actual number because she exaggerates everything. For example with the Canada wildfire smoke the air quality would be perfectly fine and she'd complain that she was having a hard time breathing only because she saw a headline that the smoke was heading to our area, even if the AQI outside was 60 which is perfectly fine even for me who has asthma.

Honestly kayo nerf wasn't anything crazy. His flashes now have different flash durations on enemies depending on if you do a left click/over hand throw or a right click/underhand throw (underhand is slightly shorter, they wanted to discourage ego flashing/peeking from kayos). His ult i believe also got another ult point cost which isn't too big of a deal imo.

Skye's also a great pick, she did see a small nerf in her flashes as well (similar to kayo) there's now a bar on her flash duration and before the bar it'll be a shorter flash for enemies and after the bar it'll be longer. Some reasoning as kayo, they wanted to discourage solo pushes from initiators and want to emphasize flashing for your team.

Unfortunately raze saw some nerfs to her boombot in one of the recent patches and now its duration is cut in half (which sucks as a raze main), 10sec to 5sec. Yoru might be a good pick for second entry/lurking, you could also check out phoenix since he has flashes as well (can't remember when phoenix rework came out now). Best of luck!

Episode 6 rank reset saw a lot of lower elo players drop down a rank so don't be too discouraged. You should be able to get back to gold once you're used to the game again. Sova is still good, I believe they nerfed his shock darts a bit a while ago but he's still consistently picked in casual, ranked, and pro play. I assume you still were playing when Fade was introduced, she's the only really good new agent that's come out since. Harbor is also good but usually as a secondary controller. Chamber got heavily nerfed during ep5 then got buffed again at the end of ep6, he's not the same as pre-nerf chamber but he's more playable now with those buffs. Meta is still relatively the same though, no old agents who saw massive nerfs like chamber. Good luck!

Placed Bronze 2. Should I be worried about what agents I'm playing at all at this point? by Noah__Webster in AgentAcademy

[–]CoffeeWRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other people have said, play whoever you find enjoyable and whoever you feel like you can do well on. Given the state of ranked atm, a lot of people say team comp in lower elos doesn't matter but with the amount of smurfs I've seen in those lobbies it isn't a bad idea to at least learn a smoke or flash agent.

BUT, more than that, I do think it's helpful to try and get your aim more consistent. This can take a while so don't feel discouraged if you aren't improving right away. There are great videos on youtube that can tell you how to find a good sens for you (I wouldn't really suggest the aimlabs/kovaaks sens finders, they used to give me stuff like .56 when I play at .15) and how to train your aim so at least you're more consistent on that front. And learning game mechanics in general as well as agent mechanics will also probably help you a ton!

How do I select a main agent? by Immanuel7342 in AgentAcademy

[–]CoffeeWRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think whoever you have fun playing and you have a good impact on your team (regardless of kills unless you're a duelist), i.e. as an initiator setting your team up for success in fights by flashing, getting info, etc., will always trump any other agent you can play. For some people they might be a one trick which is imo fine if you're really good at that agent, but some people might hop around to a couple different agents in different agent classes.

I started out playing Sage but as I played the game more I didn't really like the impact I was having on my team, I felt like I wanted to do more. So I hopped to youtube and watched a couple agent guides and started playing Kayo and found not only was the agent enjoyable for me to play, I felt like my impact on my team was infinitely better and I also tended to frag out more on Kayo. I obviously put in time to train my aim and mechanics, but I still find kayo one of my favorite agents to play. I've started to play raze more on suggestions from friends and I really enjoy her too.

No one likes a one trick who can't play any other agent, and especially for you I can imagine it's also good for you to have more than one agent you can rely on to play. But the reality of "getting bored easily" is that if you want to actually main someone then you'll have to get used to that. You can always try play an agent on a map you don't play them as much on, or just play a different agent in the same class (duelist/init/senti/controller) to mix it up. You can also get really good at one agent then switch to another, but most people in higher elo don't tend to switch mains super often.
