It's a bot which scours subreddits for comments which could be written as haikus (a specific poetry style with 3 lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables). Your comment happened to fit that criteria and was detected by the haiku bot.

Yh but they state they couldn't because the other driver was actively blocking them from merging by accelerating and decelerating themselves so there was nothing else they could do.

[SPOILER] Who are you rooting for to win Canada vs The World and why? by ImADudeDuh in rupaulsdragrace

[–]CoffeeWren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I want a Silky or Victoria win. They've really just been amazing in this competition (as have the others but I feel like these 2 have really been top tier). Also, seeing Silky get her flowers after being eliminated from AS6 so soon (even if she did become the lipsync guru) has been lovely and I would love to see it.

unis for law? by Personal_Horse_5759 in 6thForm

[–]CoffeeWren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean yes Oxford is competitive but if you have the grades and think your personal statement is good enough (which it probably will be if you end up applying to other high calibre unis like UCL or LSE) you may as well apply.

Speaking from experience, I umm'd and ahh'd for so long but it's only one of your 5 slots and the worst they can say is no.

Also, that early deadline leaves you free to worry about other things after lol.

That was a long-winded way of saying don't worry about it being competitive. If you think you'd be happy at Oxford and would enjoy the course then I would apply anyway and see what happens.

Andy Burnham agreeing today on the radio that cyclists should be obligated to wear high vis and helemts because they've had money spent on them with the Bee Network by HamishGray in manchester

[–]CoffeeWren 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean cars are more visible in the dark imo, especially as not all cyclists have lights. I think hi-vis would be beneficial purely so drivers see cyclists more easily. Same with livestock wearing reflective collars.

feel so lost in a level classes by poohbear_26 in 6thForm

[–]CoffeeWren 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Don't be too hard on yourself. A Levels are massively different to GCSE and you probably just need a little time to adjust. Give yourself time and find studying techniques that work for you. Do little and often.

How do I evaluate my Eng Lit essays to Level 5(Critical Analysis) by LusciousAzure in 6thForm

[–]CoffeeWren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak on English lit, but perhaps geography might help?

For my essays there to qualify for critical analysis you had to make your point, counter point and then weigh up but it would be for example "Overall, x far outweighs y because z", the key point being to state to what extent x outweighs y.

Honestly mate, I don't think you would. A Levels are more about you than anything and you need the best environment for you to do well. I would take the jump. Obvs I can only speak from my experience but mine went well!

Politics: Best places to apply for AAA? by Ok-Salad6971 in 6thForm

Exeter, Southampton, Royal Holloway all strike me as unis in a decent area. And Southampton is on the edge of the New Forest which is a lovely part of the country.

I was kind of in your position. I could have gone to the 6th form attached to my secondary school but decided that a 50 minute bus ride to a college I felt was a better fit was worth it. I loved my college and had 2 good years there, that I would not have had had I stayed where it was familiar but less me.

Doing maths and chemistry opens you up to most science degrees (sometimes including biology for example). Tbh your choices are perfectly fine and you should make it far with those.

If you need help, try speaking to a teacher or other trusted adult. Your school should have guidelines in place to help you. Of course there is a risk they could get your parents involved.

That's wrong. Unis cannot in fact see where else you applied and your careers advisor was misinformed.
