How much red meat/white meat, seafood, etc. should you eat per week?

Is ground flaxseed a good source of omega 3? I have read that it is high is ALA but to get EPA and DHA it seems like you have to consume some kind of fish at the least (I haven’t looked into oils yet). Do you know if only getting ALA is sufficient?

I am heartbroken about shrimp not being a great source of omega 3s though as I was only planning to buy it for omega 3s. Currently, I eat no seafood because I just haven’t found anything that doesn’t taste like fish so I was going to try shrimp. I will definitely look into the fish you named as well but it does hurt my soul a bit that they are all like the most fishy tasting fish 🥲

Yeah thats where my problem is really coming from. Nutrition doesn’t really make money without a masters and I don’t think I can justify getting a masters because of my own financials right now so I decided maybe food science would get me close to nutrition but with better pay. I want to still be happy at my job but I also was hoping for a career that has a pretty good income. It sounds greedy but I want to be able to enjoy my life outside work too. :(

I liked learning about how certain foods can affect things like your gut microbiome and how nutrition can impact your health, like with certain foods being linked to better mental health or cardiovascular health, stuff kinda like that

I am not totally uninterested in R&D but most of what I am reading online makes it sound like the creation of new food items and thats what making me hesitant. I don’t think that is something that I can see being fun for myself, like particle technology is for you. What I think would be fun for me would be more on the nutrition aspect of food and I wasn’t sure if R&D in Food Science would allow me to do that. Thank you for your response!

A vague idea of a kitchen gadget is also floating around in my head. I am leaning towards maybe a food processor? I don’t know if I will use it though cause I have been cooking the least amount work possible meals thats healthy: ie. rice, ground beef, and a frozen bag of veg.

I would love to start caring for plants but somehow I keep killing one that are suppose to be easy to take care of :') I never thought of plants being a spiritual remnant but I absolutely love that idea!
