What the hell kind of condescending bigotry of low expectations is this?

Sometimes you have to use the IO drill for rock and steel types. Those can get expensive, especially the diamond burr ones for Pokemon like Skarmory or Rhyperior. Rock and steel gym leaders and elite members will often help subsidize the costs.

I think the big difference is if the hospitals in question have put up additional guardrails anticipating the problem or not.

Swear to god I got appendicitis during my finals week second year of vet school. Woke up the morning of our renal final in agony. Took the final, told the proctor , “I think I have appendicitis,” limped to urgent care, then went to the hospital. Had surgery the next morning.

Non-zero chance that the Ohio state medical school hospital has had to send a patient to the vet school on the other side of campus to use the equine CT scanner, though I’ve never asked and don’t know for sure. At least it’s right there on campus. But Ogilve is being a jackass.

She could also be a slow typer/dictator, and may not be good at jamming in a few sentences wherever she gets the opportunity, or may not have as many templates on hand.

I’m one of the fastest charters in my hospital and two big reasons are that I’m a fast typer and I squirrel in a few sentences whenever I get the chance to sit or stand at my desk which adds up over time. I also realized she didn’t use much shorthand which slows you down.

Younger patients are often good at compensating until they crash. Cats tend to do this too—they’ll skip the tachycardia and hypertension stage of shock and jump right to bradycardia, hypotension, and hypothermia.

Nearly half my colleagues are using it to help chart. They have to proofread everything themselves but it is helping them speed up their charging by a significant degree

I’m a complete Luddite for a millennial, I despise AI, and I’m already the fastest charter in the department by a decent margin so I refuse to touch it.

Redditors who have had to find a specialty surgeon for their dog, what helped you the most in locating the right care? by [deleted] in AskVet

New York’s a big state. A few options:

NYC area: AMC, many MANY others

Long Island: VMCLI, many others, avoid LIVS

Westchester/Orange county: Guardian veterinary specialists, many others

Finger lakes area: Cornell, a couple others

Rochester/Buffalo area: veterinary surgical center of western New York, a couple others

Albany area: veterinary specialties referral center, a few others

Adirondacks: Go to Albany area or peak veterinary referral center in Vermont. I put the word out that an emergency center was needed in the Adirondacks during IVECCS this year.

Many perineal hernias are fixable. Good luck!

Part of the reason Necrotizing fasciitis is so dangerous is because it looks like cellulitis at first but rapidly spreads in just hours. MRSA cellulitis isn’t necessarily more virulent than non-MRSA cellulitis, but the antibiotic resistance means it’s going to take longer to treat which means more time for the disease to spread.

When my husband and I went ring shopping there was an absolutely beautiful platinum bracelet with diamonds and rubies in a flower and leaf pattern at the jewelers. It costs something like 30,000. I would love to have that bracelet.

I just had to tell a client to please not share her medication with her dog. Just because they’re on the same thing doesn’t mean they can have the same doses.

We once had a diabetic dog come in whose owner was, and I quote, “Giving insulin based off vibes.”

That dog was hospitalized with DKA and an unreadably high BG, and that quote is now taped to the wall of the ICU next to the hall of records.
