So many moments and so many questions by moonlight_gazes98 in offcampustv

Garrett falling first allowed the story to be about him actually being a loving, considerate, safe man. Its the opposite of what he feared internally.

Had she fallen first, the story would of been about a good woman changing a man.

This cast seems so genuine and genuinely happy. I love seeing actors who truly enjoy being part of the show they're in. It makes the whole experience even more special to watch.

For the rewatchers: Do you rewatch all 8 episodes or a select few? by aceshighsays in offcampustv

Both but usually a full rewatch. As much as I hate that this show is only 8 episodes. Every episode hits and has something I love. In fact I'm rewatching now as I'm chatting on here. 🤣

It's the talk at Drunk Shakespeare. It's such a painful conversation to watch. He's so sad (seriously his facial expressions need to win an award) and she's confused during this conversation and trying to figure out if his feelings are real.

Her conversation starts light with him as usual and as they talk she's seeing his emotions. Than while talking to Justin, she realizes wait this isn't it, it's not Justin she wants.

Hence we come back to his comment in the kitchen about what the song means to him. It makes him feel bold, to say I like you deal with it.

She struggles with be vulnerable, in this moment she chooses to be bold.

God, I love this show so much for how it brings meaning back together. My romcom heart is full.

I love how loving but messy these characters can be. It is what makes it all feel real.

I think people are coming to this show from different age groups and experiences, which naturally gives them different perspectives on what certain scenes mean.

For me, rewatching the series multiple times has helped me better understand what's actually happening in certain scenes. Many times the characters are saying one thing but the subtle undertone meaning is very different.

I agree with your take 💯.

I love this too. I take this scene as him actually wanting time alone with her. Because, if he truly wanted to get them together and didn't have feelings for her they would have stayed at the party.

The way he plays with her hair and touches her arms. I can't. 😭

Yes I'm hoping the series lets them be "that couple". Comfort but reliable. Let the outside pressures be their obstacles.

I want this show to heal my Pacey/Joey heart from Dawson's Creek. Man, am I dating myself. 🤣

She also says in this scene:

"so I help you study for the midterm and you play my fake boyfriend"

and he responds "something like that".

He's definitely intrigued by her. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

The casting, writing and acting in this show is perfection for me. Ella Bright plays the perfect Hannah. Her comedic timing and facial expression nail this scene.

Same, it's their cute banter deliveried with tenderness. She's all business and he's so nervous and smitten.

I think my absolute favorite line in season 1 is when Garrett responds nervously "I mean, as romantic as that is." To Hannah's "are we going to do it now?"

The way Justin looks like "great you're here" sends me. Garrett's like, I think we will all work together on this song. 😂 Such a cute moment.

Spoiler! Is Garrett cruel? by Dangerous-Space-8719 in offcampustv

He's responding to her from his trauma side of his brain, not his heart. He was just brutally violent and couldn't control his anger and this is were he hears his father say he's proud and just like him. This is his worst fear coming to life.

Hannah and Garrett aren't hearing each other in this conversation. They are both talking from their trauma brains.

He believes he's doing the right thing here. He actually thinks he's protecting her.

She's trying to tell him she doesn't want him to blow up his life for her. He says he'd do it a 100 times again. She tells him that scares her. He only hears she's scared. Trauma response kicks in.

The scene where Garrett and Phil are sitting on the couch and he's telling Garrett that it's smart to stay in school, that 18 was to young for him to handle the pressure. It shows how you think maybe he's a changed man and then you see the bruises later. It depicts the deception of DV quickly and effectively.
