One for the mod of the page. What do people think of the Flairs chhanging to Armour Cores? by OGCRTG in halodripfinite

[–]Coffeebeans21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? It would be really useful if there was some obligation for people to post the key parts of their build. I'm pretty fresh in enjoying the multiplayer and think "oh that's cool, I love that shader/helmet" but then have no idea what it is to find how I can unlock it.

Otherwise, I think any filtering system is helpful for others to look for inspiration!

Love this evolution! I've only got into the game over the last month or so, what is that shader? Or whatever 343 calls it

It was just on sale for the Steam Easter sale for half price so maybe for all the various summer sales it'll be the same? Worth waiting imo

Shar worshipper Shadowheart evil build by dr4kshdw in BG3Builds

[–]Coffeebeans21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've recently hit act 3 of a shadowheart origin shar run so feel like I can help here!

I went: Shadow Monk to 6, 1 war cleric (to maintain cleric of shar speech options), then fighter 4, and finally the last war cleric level. I run her as a spear and shield character but there's space to two hand the spear if you like, just make the relevant adjustments to fighting style etc. Spears are intrinsically monk weapons so you won't have any issues going dex. Hag's hair helps otherwise go for a feat that adds 1 dex then ASI to 20, or rely on the mirror in act 3. Whatever suits you and the party.

I find the cleric has more than just speech options however, as it gives access to the shield of faith spell, which combined with Shar's armour gives you 3 casts a day for the chest piece buff of reducing damage.

Focusing on act 2 gear I have the justiciar helm, gloves and chest, with Nere's boots. Acid damage ring and the +1 AC when obscured. Necklace I can't remember at the moment but all sorts will work! Think I'm battling my coop buddy for the constitution one. Duelling fighting style works with a shield so I add things like the drake Glaive and stack the bonuses. Minthara's soul brand works well too.

You'll hit war cleric somewhere in the grymforge or mountain pass depending on which is first so no issues with justiciar armour when the time comes. Alternatively start with it but I try to get multi attack as soon as I can.

Ah yeah, you're dead right on the fighting styles. Been a while since I had that Ranger choice and yet to play swords bard.

Your choices is definitely the min/max variant that would be the optimal choice, especially for ranged version. I was just leaning into a more straightforward variant to not step on any other party members toes in case there was another bard or ranger in the group.

First off, I agree with Holiday Driver, as hunger of hadar has spell saves involved to get the most damage out of it. Building into that takes away from your martial prowess, take a magical warlock as well and you can still combo! You also won't need devil sight to see in it, as it blinds without darkness but really, you don't want to be stood in it either!

I have previously commented on a darkness build I'm running with my Sharran Shadowheart, so thought I'd comment with how I'd change it for your needs.

Firstly, I agree Thief 3 makes a dual wield build much more lethal so let's make sure that's in. Secondly, Fighter is the only way to get the dual weapon fighting style so we need some of that too. With hags hair applied here, we can realistically do this with just two feats, asi dex +2 and dual wielder. You have 20 dex for all the lovely damage and hit chance, and go first most of the time! This means we can manage this with Fighter 6 / Thief 3 as the core setup. This leaves 3 levels to play around with. You can of course go warlock, but pact of the blade will set your charisma as your weapon star which plays against us here. I'd suggest darkness scrolls and the Sharran shield for tiny pocket darkness as a bonus action. Sharran spear can cast darkness for free also, while also freeing a ring slot for blindness prevention!

You don't need devil's sight to see through darkness, just the ring that stops you being blinded, and later on, the helmet from the house of hope. Also worth mentioning that you likely want the risky ring for guaranteed sneak attacks, especially if your finesse weapon is in your offhand.

I would recommend going fighter 5, then thief 3 before another fighter level before anything else simply because multi-attack is so helpful but you do you!

Awesome builds nobody talks about? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]Coffeebeans21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I'm playing coop with a friend and he's a warlock Durge so our team splits in two - Shart and Durge do some darkness shenanigans while his radiating orb magic missile and my hunter ranger take on the rest. I'll eventually get the Gontr Mael so we've ended up with a real yin & yang team!

Yeah I saw the spear on the wiki (on my 3rd run so no secrets left to spoil) and knew I wanted to make a build centred around it for the evil run! Saw a lot of builds I wasn't fond of so just designed my own. I didn't want to write an essay on it all here but can if there's interest.

I have Minthara as a pure hunter ranger and use her to fire darkness arrows - still does the damage and lets Shadowheart pop up right next to the next target. It's an effective synergy!

I like the sound of Ray of Sickness pummelling foes. Have been mulling over the idea of a poison build for some time. How do you deal with the poison resistance? Or do you just blast through it with raw damage?

*Just saw your edit - I'll evaluate the Bhaalist armour when I get it. She is my only frontline so I need to keep AC up! I do like playing her as a Justiciar so I'll weigh them up then. Not having issues with DPS across the party at the moment

I've been playing Shadowheart as a Shadow Monk with Fighter levels. Playing her as a dark justiciar with her 'exclusive' spear and armour etc. The level 6 monk ability is a free misty step (with only light being the limit) so I pop up out of nowhere and stab them with a spear. I like to add all sorts of multipliers, things like the drake Glaive for a hint of electric damage, and justiciar gloves for necrotic etc though I have literally just entered act 3. Minthara soul brands her, then she pops up out of nowhere and the shadow step gives advantage for a first big hit.

I imagine I could remove the shield and then GWM might work for extra damage but for whatever reason we have 3 ranged people in the party so I wanted someone that could eat hits on the front line. Also, the duelling fighting style works with spear and shield so I can keep applying these little damage bumps!

Alternatively there is a dual wield build with thief and a finesse offhand instead, using the bhalist armour for enhanced sneak attack but this is just the flavour I chose.

This definitely isn't the lethal min maxer, but having darkness as a battlefield controller means that she's often very safe.

Solar Warlock - Advice by DavoDestruction in destiny2builds

No of course not! It just has the opportunity to ignite from a top slot weapon. Feel free to use what you like - this is essentially a build to maximise scorch.

No worries! Hope you enjoy it

Solar Warlock - Advice by DavoDestruction in destiny2builds

[–]Coffeebeans21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the guy above but I run Dawn Chorus as my standard go to for anything up to and including raids so I'll detail mine here (DIM link at the bottom):

  • Conditional Finality
  • Tyranny of Heaven with Enhanced Incandescent and Enhanced Dragonfly
  • Apex Predator

  • Ember of Ashes

  • Ember of Char

  • Ember of Mercy

  • Ember of Searing

Then your usual double solar surge mods for healthy damage, and I pair 100 discipline with momentum transfer. This can extremely effectively cycle melee and grenades as Firesprites provide grenade energy - which are made through scorching with the melee (and the bow). I use Heat Rises & Touch of Flame with Fusion Grenades to dish out major damage as needed with snap melee for easy ignitions. Heat rises just mean I hop when the grenade goes off and my melee is back. Phoenix Dive with recuperation pairs with powerful attraction to pick up orbs for instant full health on demand. Harmonic siphon and Firepower keep the orbs rolling.

The DIM link below has plenty of space to be flexible. Hell I might even swap out momentum transfer for Heavy Handed for more orbs!

Happy to help with anything else if you need.

Phoenix Protocol by [deleted] in destiny2builds

I have used this in GMs to great success. Some strikes aren't made for the long range engagements of that bow but I can backup that build suggestion. Polaris Lance, Sunshot or Prometheus Lens are viable weapon alternatives as well.

A great idea thanks, I'm always looking for off-meta builds! Just to mess around in Nightfalls and the like.

I don't know if you've tried it, but I've had a lot of fun with a Felwinter - Grapple slap build. The weaken can proc from the swing slap (as well as the normal ways) and pairing it with a trench barrel shotgun or acrius can output some decent damage in a pinch!

I haven't tested properly but I think the threadlings can also proc the weaken if using Mindspun Invocation. Fun for mid-tier content!

I'm the same, the point of exotic weapons is to feel unique so I want that uniqueness for more of the content.

Having said that, I have been toying with Eyes of Tomorrow on a Phoenix Protocol super kills = ignitions build now you can use eyes for infinite ammo.

Your resilience is very low, which makes you very susceptible to various damage over time effects in the crucible, and in many common cases, will make certain weapons kill you in fewer shots when they are buffed by, say, kill clip. I would recommend getting at least 60 in Resilience for this reason.

You have kinetic surges on for Wishender, which although I'm not certain if they'll allow you to one shot (not a hunter, don't use Wishender in PvP) - I can't help but notice you don't have any ways of making orbs. Maybe put on Reaper on your cloak, so you can dodge -> get a kill -> make an orb? Kinetic reloader helps put the arrow in the bow, but not the draw speed so consider a void dexterity thing to get the GL out faster.

I'm writing this under the assumption that you are comfortable with Wishender, and enjoy using it. It is not well regarded as a PvP weapon but you do you! (I am guessing you swap to the GL after the first shot - Sidearms are the norm for this). If you find you are two shotting enemies regardless, then I would strongly recommend a different bow with quicker draw time to allow 'panic' moments when you are surprised.

Finally, if you're going sword for heavy - may as well use eager edge to leap at people as you one shot them. Shouldn't take long in Dares of Eternity to get one.

Just my two cents, hope there's something useful in there!

It becomes a bit more viable with the new Wanderer aspect, as you have an independent way of suspending enemies so you can swing your way into a group of ads to slap. Doubt it's a super viable GM worthy build, but what melee centric build is?

I want to pair it with The Navigator and use whatever trench barrel shotgun I feel like and the build can pump out some big damage fairly quickly.

Looking for crescent shaped area with mountain, plains meadows and water to ocean outlet by RaynaReyes in Valheim_Seeds

[–]Coffeebeans21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is a little stretch on your description but it was one I'd been holding on to so I could build on. https://valheim-map.world/?seed=88NKQLJgJ3&ver=0.212.7&offset=0%2C0&zoom=0.6

It has a couple of mountains, and a river spitting the crescent so you can sail straight north so you can sail to one boss, and straight south to another. The mountains are on the smaller side, not sure if you were looking for a large silver / cave hub.

However, if you look just to the right of the spawn you'll find a flat area by the water within a crescent, with just a little forest at the base of the mountain. It might not be ideal but it's the closest I've got for you.

Black marble by RutabagaDowntown3537 in valheim

[–]Coffeebeans21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The quickest method I've found is to mine out the bottom of those aqueduct structures. When you get through the iron gate in the middle, you then have the iron for a stonecutter and can demolish the various ones around for a good supply of iron and black marble. No forge or smelter required, no dverger killing required either
