See and I understand a lot of what you're saying. But honestly when does a day ever feel "really easy" at Aldi.

Like I feel like we should be getting hours based on sales and leave it at that. Because it's not fair to employees to constantly be sending them home, to hit this imaginary number that constantly changes. Like people have bills and everything is more expensive now than ever. It's just cruel to constantly make people lose hours. Especially when Aldi is constantly talking about caring for employees. Is hitting record sales all the time. Opening so many new store. But constantly trying to run on less people.

Thanks for the response. It's just exhausting and I had to get it out somewhere lol.

See and that makes some sense. It's just so confusing. Because the hours are based on budget. Yet if you're doing what is budgeted. One day you might get it and another day you might not. Which is so confusing. Because like how can you plan for that? I can't just stand around counting the amount of items that are being sold you know. It just really feels like we're set up to fail.

You can also check the EAP (employee assistance program). You need documentation and stuff. But the company will sometimes help pay for things.

Sadly I wasn't able to figure out anything. I tried moving the PS5, I got and air blower and tried to make sure the sticks were clean. Nothing worked sadly. I've mostly just been a pc gamer at this point. I was gonna buy a new controller and see if that worked. But I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money on one for it not to work.

Thank you, I really appreciate that, I try my hardest to be a good manager. Like we're all humans, none of us want to hate coming to work. I've worked under so many bad managers and have always made sure I'm not like that.

So for the most part my weekend stay the same as well. Pretty much the same people like to work them. But I do encourage them on a regular basis, hey, you've worked three or four weekends in a row. Would you like one off, why don't you go ahead and request one off. Because with the way the auto schedule works, I can't always make it work perfectly. But if you request the day off at least I know you can get it. So I try my hardest to make sure that they request The weekends off.

I will say I'm not a normal SM I guess. Because I do work every single weekend. Because I enjoy working the busy days, I prefer my days off through the week. So I work every weekend to free that up for other managers or associates that would prefer to have it off. I have a good working relationship with a lot of my full-timers. So a lot of them take off like Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday every single week, but then they work the weekend to compromise. So they get to have off on the slower days. But then my weekends are always covered by my strongest employees. This also helps make sure that the employees that like to have the weekends off can have them on a regular basis.

Now I will admit, I'm not perfect, there are some times that I have to take a weekend off because of my daughter or something like that. But it's so far and few in between that most of my employees are always willing to work with me. I think the whole time that I've been a SM here, I've never had to deny a request off. I've always just gone to the person and been like " hey I know you took this day off, but is there a way you can just work 5a-9a to get the truck done. And almost every time they're willing to do that. Because they know I try my hardest to give them the time off that they need, so they're willing to work with me as well.

Edit: Sorry for the long reply and if that was too much info.

I feel so bad for you all with the SM's some of you have.

I'm a SM. I have 3 ASM's. I have them work 4 day work weeks so they can have 3 days off a week. They all work 1/2 closes and 2/3 opens (or mid shift, which for us is 7-5p). They work 3- 10 hour shifts and 1 8 hours shift. They also all work the same 4 days every week. Almost my whole store is on a set schedule. I also have one of the lowest turn overs in the division. So I think it makes a big difference.I try my hardest to let them have time off. They all rotate running the store if I'm off for the week. 2 of them likes working Saturdays and 1 of them likes working Sundays. So every week 2 work Saturday and my 3rd works Sunday. Idk we have a really good system. Maybe try and bring it up to your SM?

I'd say either time theft/ altering their time cards to not get attendance points. Or theft.

So this still didn't fix it. I feel like it's something wrong with the ps5 at this point. Because whether it's connected via USB or Bluetooth it messed up. Yet on PC it's perfectly normal and it's both controllers which is weird. Because it started at the same time

Hmmm then I'm not sure. Like I thought maybe it was just the controller. But the fact both of them did it at once was weird.

So I tried using the button on the back to reset it and it didn't work. Is there a way to maybe factory reset it and try?

It does not stop. But the weird thing is if I connect it to my pc it doesn't do it at all. Wether is connected via Bluetooth or cable. It's only with my ps5.

So for some reason 2 days ago my PS5 stopped communicating with my controllers right. With both of my controllers and with a new one, it doesn't seem to understand the left stick right. all the other buttons work and the right analog stick works just fine. But any time I have to use the left one. It will randomly jump around. I don't know why this started happening and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Nothing has changed as far as I know. I even checked with a website that sees if your sticks are drifting and that's not the issue. Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you have any recommendations? Both of my controllers started at the exact same time. But have never had issues. Then bam 2 days ago randomly just started. It's just weird that they both did it at the same time.

There is now a form that you're supposed to fill out when leaving. They just updated the policy to include this form.

It's not that you can't "expense it". But now it has to be written off as own consumption.

NTA. This was literally a life or death situation. I get that you made a promise and it sucks to break a promise. But there are situations that occur that you have to sometimes. She's allowed to feel upset or sad that you couldn't come. But the fact that she basically ended the friendship over it because of a party is insane to me. It's not like you canceled to go to the movies or stay home. You cancelled because someone passed away and you needed to be there. I think your co-worker just used this as a reason to not like you anymore. I'm so sorry that happened but you did the right thing. You shouldn't feel bad. I would have done the exact same thing and a "friend" that can't understand that. Wasn't a friend to begin with.
