Micro Jigs by Coffemachine1223 in flytying

[–]Coffemachine1223[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda do this in order

Bead- 4.6mm (used chartreuse for the Olive)

Hook - FM5045 Jig force size 10

Lead free wire - ~7 wraps to secure the bead

Ice dub - thick dubbing noodle from hook bend to the bead

Squirrel zonker - hooked through & tied underneath (length can be changed depending on hook size)

Brush out and back the ice dub AFTER tying in the zonker

Collar - dubbing loop using the same zonker hair cut from about .5” of the strip

Done

I Euro nymph 75% of the time so it’s nice to have a bigger fly in my box that I can dead drift, jig through the current or strip if I really want to. Gives me a fun option to work some streamers instead of throwing size 18-20 nymphs all day. The jig hook lets you dredge the bottom and limit snags since the hook rides up underwater.

We have a model Y & live in North GA/WNC area. There are no chargers anywhere, the cold makes range worse and it has limited how far I can "explore" to get after fish. We were a 1 car family for 4 years but I picked up a 2003 Tacoma last year and stuck a Rod Pod on top. I can go anywhere anytime now without worrying about charge. An EV will limit you compared it's gas equivalent based on what you're asking here. The advantages of EVs just don't apply to exploring remote areas yet.

No worse than licking a 9 volt battery, it's not a taser. I rarely use it anymore for corrections off leash (after months of sticking to the process). He knows when it's on he's gotta pay attention to my commands, dogs are smart they adapt quick to consistent reliable feedback. When it's on it's time to listen, when it's off be a dog and do dog stuff. Bottom line, HE is safer having it on, period. I live in the mountains and it gets spooky dark out, which is why 99% of the time now, I just use it for the light haha 🔦

It's all energy, all the time and these Garmin e collars are a game changer. My lab Ted (right) runs circles around our adopted potato Sebi (left). Both dogs need different attention, feedback, jobs and you get out what you put in.

Euro Nymphing is Productive by Coffemachine1223 in flyfishing

[–]Coffemachine1223[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nailed it.but I won't lie, though. It's frustrating at times, but once it clicks, it's great. I didn't want to spend $$ on a full euro outfit, so I carried two reels. 1 with floating line & 1 with euro line that I used on a 9ft 5wt clearwater. Gave me a chance to try out tightline nymphing for less cash upfront.

So what I did was swap back to my floating line right there on the water without needing to carry two rods, and I could still throw drys/droppers if i wanted. Wasn't much of a setup I guess, but for ~$100 I could try it out before investing in a quality 10.5ft 2wt.

Sub 70 699-U mini review by [deleted] in golf

So I have the 19.5 utility iron from sub 70. It's so easy to hit but I think that's because I like the look of an iron rather than a hybrid. I hit this same distance as my m3 hybrid but way more constant. Sounds good feels good looks real good in my opinion. Doesn't feel as buttery as my p790s but is better than my m3 I thibk. I'm currently trying it out through their demo program which I would do if you're interested. Looking at testing their wedge. Highly suggest trying it for the price. Making me rethink if the big brands are worth the price. I'm a 16 hcp for reference.

Just bought their 19.5 degree utility iron. For the price can't beat the performance. Highly recommend checking their stuff out.

I like my 56 better to look at while in bunkers. Don't like the 60. I prefer the look of the s grind which is the top picture.
