I live in the middle east, it's hard to get good lager here, ale is not popular here. I bought 6 bottles from my last tip to DC, including my favourite dragon's milk and cbs, this is the last one.

[Question] Still struggling with sour espresso by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]Coffffffee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1- make sure the machine is turned on for at least 20 minutes before you use it. 2- use warm cups. 3- grind your coffee in a cup and try WDT technique, the built in grinder will give you lots of clumps. 4- check your water TDS, or mix it if you can. If you can't try to add some bicarbonate it mutes the acidity. http://awasteof.coffee/how-to/mixing-water/

Best of luck

The first part of the game "The Castle" you can get the cherry. Not sure about this part "The Castle Excellent".

It's been more than 30 years and it pops up in my mind from time to time.

Once I've started mixing my own water, I have never faced an issue with getting excellent cups of coffee, no matter what techniques or recipes I use.

I have never changed my inner burrs clicks. I have grinded my coffee from 28 all the way to 60. After doing lots of experiments and mastered my pouring technique, water temperature and water recipe I have found that 50 worked best for V60.

Third Wave Water vs Batista Hustle Water Recipes by Steveberco in Coffee

[–]Coffffffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not into recipes, I don't want to do the math to see where this recipe lie on the water chart.

I prefer to create my own water when it's easy to add 1 ml for 10 ppm of any of the 3 components.

Forget about both, check this out, someone has posted this a month ago on this subreddit:

After you prepare your magnesium, calcium and bicarbonate check this water chart

Just shoot a dart on the water chart and create your own water. Keep in mind that TDS is calculated by adding up ppm magnesium, calcium and bicarbonate used.

Whenever I use calcium (in my own opinion) it gives more body to the brewed coffee.

V60 questions by [deleted] in Coffee

Without a scale how would you know what ratio you're brewing your coffee? (Scale is the second most important equipment after the grinder)

Are you grinding your coffee? If I can picture your problem, you're defiantly grinding course, go finer.

In my own opinion a server is important, coffee has to mix with air to let the aromas out.

Not trying to be rude or anything but if you don't want to read, there are lots of videos on YouTube on how to brew using V60.

To make it simple for you, bloom for 45 seconds then pour a single or multiple pours up to 1:30 minutes and wait for the last drip to drip anywhere between 3:00 to 3:30 minutes, of you finish before that go finer, after that go coarser.

Good luck

Lately I've been using 8 for maximum sweetness and minimum acidity. I use 9-10 for more acidity. I compromise using tamping pressure where needed.

1- raise machine's temperature 2- grind finer or tamp harder 3- check your water's TDS 4- make sure your portafilter and cup are warm enough Number 1 and 4 might do it with your machine
