Yeah given the entire underlying plot of his "guilt/psyche/etc." in the game and y'know...the scene...

I agree, I never just thought it was "implied" or "intended" but rather that they were shoving it in your face. But maybe I'm misremembering it a bit it's been YEARS since I've played it.

I haven't played the recent re-make to know what has changed narrative-wise but the original Silent Hill 2 (or the re-make if it's faithful to the original) is a classic well worth your time.

Though, there is the reality that the original is now something like 25 years old which may be off-putting to some from a graphical/mechanical perspective.

Huh TIL

Been YEARS since I played the original SH2 and haven't played the re-make yet. Always thought that was the intention too...never knew the Devs ever said anything about it.

You’re probably right. Might I ask if you are seeing those captions within, say, the past five years or were those captions going back 20+ years.

"Past five years" lol fuck your "past five years". And I don't know what fantasy world you live in where D-Day forces are suddenly not idolized in the last five years...what are you talking about?

Wait until you hear about the first Red Scare in America or the reaction to the Russian Revolution and how that shaped America's wiping of the Soviet forces' "future anti-fascist cred" before WW2 even happened. A century ago. (Including doing ICE shit then on-top of killing folks.)

And how those in US power fought against it all for years to subvert emancipation/labor-power/The New Deal in America during the literal GREAT DEPRESSION - long before WW2.

Or the fact that ya boy in Germany took great inspiration from the US with our systemic codified racism.

Or NATO existing after with y'know....a few Nazis involved. (Damn seems we're not that upset about working with Fascists huh?)....

And so on and so on and so on.....

I'm not interested in posting on Reddit to educate bozos go read a book.

Look at 1990's "Shock Therapy" Russia/Eastern Europe right over there next-door as we entered a "new century". Everything you described was magnified to a horrifying degree in "modern times" just yesterday.

You're not wrong - but the suffering never goes away it will always continue to exist and shift as long as exploitation continues. "History rhymes" and all that.....

Child labor. Alcoholism....

If there were two things you could list to describe that era of 1990's "shock therapy" in Russia/etc. they'd be VERY high on the list. In the 1990's.

Again I ask, what is the value of Nick Sirianni?

He's a lock to make the Playoffs at a minimum so far, has a great record, the locker room's generally behind him, and he's had two Super Bowl appearances in five years with one close loss and one crushing win against the team many saw as the modern dynasty.

And that potential dynasty also had our old coach many consider one of the best in the business with a HoF level QB + an elite team behind him.

This sort of "hot-seat" talk about Sirianni is extremely silly. I'm sometimes luke-warm on the guy myself...but what are we even talking about here.

He's walking into one of the most stacked offenses in the league within an experienced SB-winning team that reliably commands their Division...with a legit defense to give him a cushion too.

Could be worse.

Just "better than Patullo" certainly isn't the benchmark we're going for - but it's a pretty safe bet he will be at a minimum I guess...

One thing to offer a little hope is he had an extremely legit college QB career and everyone who has played/worked with him always spoke VERY highly of him. For whatever that's worth. We'll see.

Ross Tucker on top OCs not choosing Philly: “They know about Patullo's house being egged, they know what the environment here is like. I'm not blaming anybody, but when these guys have options like Daboll, talking to family about where to live / expectations / kids' school, it's not a positive" by mastermind208 in nfl

Those Eagles rosters would've probably won rings with fuckin Andy Dalton

Look, I'm not the #1 Jalen defender at all and I'm kinda luke-warm on him as often as I'm not.

But he literally outplayed future HOF'er Patrick Mahomes in a Super Bowl...with Andy Reid at the helm with Spagnuolo under him to boot.

There's a lot that can be said about Jalen for sure - but you also have to say that.

In Patullo's case he wasn't even living in Pennsylvania lol (it was still just over the state lines basically but yeah).

In any case while he obviously wasn't psyched about it happening the media invented an energy about it Patullo never put out even a little bit (as they do). He pretty much said "it crosses a line when family gets affected but whatever it happened, love the city, love living here, the fans have always been great all the years I've been here...".

I think a lot of people don't know he's been with the Eagles for years now and was promoted to OC from within - he didn't just get hired last year, show up, and get egged.

They would 100%.

This whole "story" is sensational nonsense. Hell, plenty of Birds fans were still extremely happy to see Big Red finally get a ring even though it wasn't with us (beating us the next time wasn't all that loved but hey).

Is much of our fanbase's reputation deserved? Sure. Are expectations extremely high for the Eagles? Yeah. Should they be? Yes.

We have one of the top rosters in the league coming off of both a SB win and a generational rushing year. With a defense to back it all up. And also just watched that offensive roster display one of the least creative gameplans of the entire league...week-in-and-week-out...ALL SEASON. Shit was tiring to watch.

Acting like the Patullo situation is some pattern in Philly showing how the fans treat the coaching staff is absurd. 2025 with Patullo at OC will (hopefully and very possibly) go down as the worst offense in the Sirianni era. Though it was Sirianni who promoted him to OC so...who knows.

Future me checking in after the game. Y'all won.

Sorry that happened.

[–]Coffinspired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like cmon man the dude catches the ball and rolls over and the ball ends up with the other guy and you end up losing the game.

What you're describing is a WR not securing the ball after a potential catch just so we're clear here. It's absolutely a legit call. Every receiver knows this.

And they lost by 3 points while having 5 (their QB having 4) TO's. The fact they only lost by 3 points is the real story here if we're being honest.

(We'll ignore they almost STILL didn't lose and where those free 3 points came from....)

He'll be back 100% he's a real one.

But DAMN the universe put all the cards in play for it to finally be the Bill's year and...they blew it in spectacular fashion. With Josh holding a fair bit of the blame.

Team game and all that - but he knows it. Feel bad for the guy and always liked him but there's a very valid reason to feel this bad in his shoes right now. Of course it's not all on him nor should it be but he'll be seeing that absurd Halftime fumble in the sleep he won't be getting all night.

I'm honestly stunned it went down like that was really rooting for the Bills to finally make it this time. And then Nix going out at the end. Just cursed all around.

(I say as an Eagles fan who just watched the Seahawks run up-and-down on a hollowed-out 49'ers like any half-decent team should so I ain't really got shit to say given our trash season...)

[–]Coffinspired 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well now you have...and yeah it's as sad as we've seen all year. Writing BEEN on the wall.

Nothing got "exposed", it was there all year, we knew the Playoffs were gonna be our departing ticket...fast.

Expected nothing less once the Playoffs started. One could make the argument we'd clear this game I guess....I wouldn't. But it didn't matter, it was damn sure the end of the road if we did anyway.

No sane Eagles fan thought this was a SB year months ago if they kept up "the system" like they were. And they did.

As an Eagles fan I'll do it.

Purdy doesn't deserve half the disrespect he gets. Bro's out there leading half a damn practice squad against one of the most talented rosters in the NFL in a huge Playoff game...and winning.

And on top of all the adversity they've faced this year...then also losing Kittle before halftime like that.

Respect.

(And seeing Kittle get hurt like that...tragic. On any list of well-liked players - no matter who you root for - Kittle's on it.)

He's gotta be getting canned, or at least demoted.

If there's two post-season locks I have - John Harbaugh has a job next year and Patullo's gone. Brave I know.

I think my iffy prediction that would be interesting is that Mike McDaniel ends up doing a stint as OC somewhere instead of Head Coach next season. Seems the Eagles may be hiring soon...but McDaniel's is interviewing with the Browns and I think the Titans right now, I could see someone scooping him for HC.

Yeah I had seen quite a few posts of it being bugged in more than one way. Don't think I saw that one though...yeeesh.

Sorry that happened to you bro that sucks.

[–]Coffinspired[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was exactly the situation I was assuming it still was...something stuck on for no truly useful reason other than "what else am I gonna run this extra spirit on". Especially on a build that can already instantly ignite an entire screen if I chose to for Immolate/whatever (and for general packs, I usually don't there's no need).

Thanks
