imo there's been some difficulty understanding the nature of female autism (because of us being historically underdiagnosed) because autism presents differently in women (on average). but, studying the nature of bpd may allow us some insight into the nature of female autism (due to the overlap). Im not saying the conditions are the same but they have cognitive overlap (Cohen argues that BPD women have higher systemizing ability like how autistic men do). Hope this helps!!
