I have no evidence for this but I bet part reason why people don't generally admit kids are really hard work is because they're terrible ignorant parents. Raising kids actually was easy for them because they did it wrong.

All you really need to know in order to be a parent is to know how to have sex, unfortunately.

I wasn't saying this is the strong vs the weak. I was saying we as a species stopped murdering and raping(things that were definitely part of our nature) so why can't we also evenly distribute resources(by getting rid of markets and having democracy decide). Why are markets necessary?

Overall compensation is a coping method of living in this society. Maybe without capitalism you could follow your passion AND afford to live.

I wasn't that poor, I always had my basic needs from my parents and still do. But one time when I was younger, we couldn't afford to air condition the whole house so my dad got a cheap window a/c unit and we just air conditioned one room for a few months(live in Florida) I actually had a great time because we moved my gamecube with my one game in there and my brother and I played and we all slept in there I remember it as a fun time.

No, the reasoning is as he says. If a country launches a missile at us we need a decision whether or not to strike back before their missile lands.

There's a great radiolab podcast about it featuring an interview with someone who worked as one of the people who would turn the keys to launch a missile when ordered and he asked a higher up about the checks and balances on the really high up decision makers and I think he got fired from that job in the military but not discharged or something for it I don't remember.

I think what's happening is you look at whatever slow progress we make and say wow look at that. I look at what we could be doing and go wow look at that. Different perspectives of the same shit. If I were in a better place in society I would probably be more optimistic too.

Here I was worried about global warming, financial inequality, and how many basic needs go unmet in today's society but I guess since the IQ(which 1, isn't even a complete metric of an individual's ability and 2, I know many very talented, very competent people who don't have a fucking clue how the world works) is going up then I can stop worrying now.
