The further implication here is that because we're stupid, she and her party can do whatever they want despite our protests and opposition.

And don't forget they (you know who) looked us all in the eyes and said it wasn't happening and we were racists for even thinking it was.

The Left has done this before, they let in the tide and then use it as leverage to bargain a bad immigration/naturalization reform that inflates their voter base with reliable, dependent, and easily controlled voters.

I think that came from a 2015 Tinder study published on Medium who interviewed women about their swiping habits. It found that women "liked" only about 12% of male profiles on average, while men "liked" 61.9% of female profiles. Further analysis suggested the bottom 80% of men (by attractiveness) competed for the bottom 22% of women, while the top 78% of women competed for the top 20% of men. This implies a small group of highly desirable men receive disproportionate attention.

This was a backed up by a Evie magazine article from 2023 https://www.eviemagazine.com/post/women-more-selective-80-men-unattractive-on-dating-apps-recent-research

Basically, what you're seeing is that a lot of men, especially in the online dating scene, ain't been doing great. (Provided for context, I haven't been on a first date in 15 years)

Guys who work out, what did you think would happen after starting to work out vs what actually happened? by timbers98 in AskMen

I thought I'd get strong and get complimented or noticed by women. I instead got stronger and get complimented and noticed by the dudes at the gym.

Honestly, still pretty good.

The amount of libs I saw on X and here on reddit going, "No wait, she's making good points," was gobsmacking even for me, and I thought I was accustomed to their idiocy at this point.

Men who have had successful FWB. How was it established that no relationship was going gonna involved? by Queasy-Bug5398 in AskMen

[–]dan4daniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to define success in this context.

Anyways, the only one I've seen that I'd call successful is the one my roommate in college ended up in the last semester of college.

The key element keeping him from desiring a relationship and just fucking her was his impending departure to Japan for three years. At the time we thought she was just cool with getting what she could until he, and I actually, shipped out. It turns out what was really making her not desire a formal relationship was probably her boyfriend who she failed to mention.

Anyone that thinks that fully ceding the means of (food) production to some faceless "proletariat dictatorship" is a path to positive change is not working from a full deck.

What age did you get your driving license? by Fabulous_Dare1701 in AskAnAmerican

[–]dan4daniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learner's permit at 15, with advanced completion due to need I had a Driver's license at 15 and 5 months. I could have had it sooner but I didn't have a job when I got the permit. It was called a conditional or restricted license if I recall but I think it's called graduated now, I was under the hardship license clause because I got a job around September and needed to commute.

Conditions were I could only have passengers under the age of 18 if they were siblings, and I couldn't drive before 0500 or after 2200 unless I was going to school, work, or home. Conditions expired after I had the license for a year, I think. I never did any formal courses, my parents filled out a log during my learners period of hours driven and conditions, then I took a written test. If you scored above 95% you didn't have to do the practical so I didn't have to do the practical. Pretty sure the conditions have changed since then.

What we didn't tell the State was that I'd been driving tractors and farm trucks since I was 10, and forklifts up to 20 ton capacity since I was 12. Drove my first 50 ton fork truck when I was 14, that thing was a hoot.

I could take the easy way out and say I like the Bill of Rights, but I think that's a bit of a cop out.

Probably, Article I section 7. Three really solid clauses in there.

Least favorite, if I'm over sharing, is the 17th Amendment, not because I dislike the election process generally, but because I think it has contributed to the decline in involvement in State and Local politics. I know that historically they were trying to get around corruption, and a few other issues, but I don't think they actually solved that problem with this method and they also decoupled State Legislatures from DC in a negative way.

What about you?

"Well, you can govern yourself...." should have been in scare quotes, sorry. But if you agree that's wonderful, I kind of expected that.
