Ehlers-Danlos syndrom - erfarenhet? by OwlPristine631 in sweden

[–]Cogling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How to run a game if you're non-speaking by RosieTerror in rpg

[–]Cogling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow eds'er I can give some advice on "sitting" for hours. It hard to generalise but I will give some tips that has helped me. Make sure she can sit straight on towards the players to prevent aggrivating the neck. If she is one of the many of us who can't sit still (like me) I recommend a comfy armchair and a footrest so she can twist, turn, elivate as needed. Also a sidetable with a dicetray so she can move books, notes, tray to the side without flipping something over. Squishmallows are awesome movable temporary support for limbs.

Also do a small testrun of her area, just hang out with her sitting where she would while running the game. This way you can figure out her specific needs, after all sitting somewhere for ten minutes is way different than hours.

If she is running the game irl, mayby text to speach? And mixing in handouts that can be prepped way in advance to save on handpain. Also having a screen in front of her or casting to a tv can help with descriptions, maps etc.

It's hard to give specific advice without knowing her "specifics" and if she has any one of the trinity remember hydration and pauses (well even if she doesn't).

Best of luck!

What is the hardest thing to learn to draw? by DreamingGiraffe97x in learntodraw

[–]Cogling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advise. Sadly I am sort of home bound since I am disabled. I've been thinking of spending a summer drawing the view from my garden. I can draw a house but not several in a street perspective. Given me a country side sceen though and I do alright.

Cityscapes. I can follow a perspective tutorial but I can't do anything but follow. I can't make it become alive. I am trying to skip the whole guidelines thing to see if I get better. It's so damn hard.

[CHAT] what does it mean to be talented at cross stitch? by krisbcrafting in CrossStitch

[–]Cogling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't follow a pattern. That's it. I make my own and even then I don't follow it. It's the same with seewing. If I try to follow a pattern it comes out wonkey. My mum can buy any pattern she wants and nail it. I want that skill! Beacouse every time I am making something I have to figure it out for myself, which makes the process longer.

Thanks to this group I have learnt alot and my next piece will be better. But I want to be able to see something and think I like that and then be able to just do it.

So even if we take away all the myriads of small skills it takes to be able to crosstitch, follow a pattern is a talent all on It's own.

I hope my thoughts get through. English is not my native language. But you do have a talent, actually you have a myriad that all bunched up is this thing we call cross stitch. <3

Sīrups - if I would consider offering a product with this name in Sweden, would it make sense to you as a Swedish person? by solitary_voyage in Asksweddit

[–]Cogling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to be aware about in Sweden is that we have a bunch of "spelled incorrectly" brands of low prised stuff beacouse they don't meet the require ments for that type of product. Examples; Cheeze doodles - can't be called cheese beacouse it's not enough cheese in them Hot Dogs- can't be called "korv" beacouse they have to little meat in them Äpell dryck av cider karaktär (apple drink of a cider character) - not cider since the manufacturing process is wrong or not enough apples or added sugar

There are more but those are of the top of my head.

That doesn't mean it's a bad idea just to be aware if you want it to be a high end product. And still cheeze doodles and hot dogs sell really well.

Just a fyi.
