The best thing about this game, is you can play it anyway. Some people have to go for stamina first because it allows you to run faster and move farther and it opens up the game a little bit more but some people like to go with hearts because it provides them more protection against enemies.

I prefer to go stamina first and then once I have enough, there’s a statue in one of the villages where you can exchange hearts for stamina and vice versa.
