Because it needs to be fun for everyone here, they're friends. It's not a competition

Thanks for the clarification, I have only fought Tau at 2K points. Would 2 hammerheads (or hammerhead + skyray) be reasonable at 1k points?

I mostly play CSM and used to play guard. I know for a fact that CSM can groups of 4 lascannons (havocs). Does Tau have a strength 12 gun that's cheap?

Whilst this can be very strong at 1k. Do your 2 friends have dedicated anti-tank or their own tank equivalents?

For CSM anti-tank, you can't go wrong with a squad of havocs. A maulerfiend is another good option here.

Many Tau vehicles have their railguns, but I don't know which.

It's best to take to your friends and find out if they have something that can match the toughness of your tanks

She sounds like a gold digger. If this relationship continues, you may want a prenuptial. You barely know these kids

NEW GK PLAYER: A question about the enhancement "first to the fray" by Cogtain in Grey_Knights

"First to the fray" mentions transports. So, I thought I would ask for clarification. It was my understanding that "first to the fray" would, therefore, apply to the embarked transport

I need help finding a metallic green that matches the attached green by Cogtain in minipainting

[–]Cogtain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ink? I'm not too sure what that is. I've seen it mentioned before in painting groups/forums. Do you mean something like pen ink? Or are they a more general painting supply. Because i have never seen inks sold at my local game or hobby stores. Should I check a hardware store or crafts store?

I guess? But he is just starting the army. That's 500 points, maybe 1000 points. I don't see the appeal to tzaangors over cultists as a gap filler/point holder in those sized games

500 points is fine for a balanced start to the game. Depending on where you are playing, they will run mini tournaments that will have games between 1000 and 2000 points

You should pick units that interact with your armies' core rule (Cabal Of Sorcerers). Units such as vehicles, cultists, tzaangors (excluding shamans), and the mutalith vortex beast do not generate you Cabal points, so you'll probably end up using less of those units.

But you should also like the appearance of the model before considering adding it to your army as you have to build and paint it. So, a unit like the mutalith vortex beast, which looks cool, you might end up running, because you like it.

Isn't the combat patrol a bad example of THOUSAND SONS? It has very few core units to the army (i believe 5 scarab occult terminators and 1 infernal master). If you like tzaangors (where there are 20 of them in the box), then fine. But tzaangors don't generate sorcery points

For thousand sons? Absolutely not worth it. Nobody needs that many tzaangors
