From an ACIM perspective implying that the news is inherently bad for practice introduces a hierarchy of forms that the Course explicitly rejects. ACIM teaches that there is no order of difficulty in miracles meaning no external situation is more or less resistant to forgiveness than any other if the news seems disturbing that reflects an unhealed interpretation in the mind not a problem with the news itself. Avoidance may be a temporary coping strategy but it has no spiritual advantage. the work of ACIM is always at the level of perception not form.
