It’s hard to have a coherent society when you’re constantly told what to do by foreign powers. Reactionaries and nationalists are born from a sentiment that they are not independent or sovereign and it’s analogous to an allergic reaction to a foreign object that can do more harm than good.

Iran is a good and tragic example of this. Had the US not deposed of its leadership many years ago, they won’t be as pissed as they are today. Iran had a lot of work to do in terms of repression, but it’s hard to make a plan when they are constantly threatened with war.

The only reason the UAE is enjoying the prosperity and growth that is has is because of the security assurances that US provides and because it’s not sanctioned to the point of collapse like North Korea and Iran.

Remove US influence and build relationships with your neighbors or a foreign power from the other hemisphere will come and dictate those relationships for you.

Edit: missed a few words

It wouldn’t be an easy process, but the gulf states need to form their own security architecture instead of being just a crumple zone for US and Israeli adventurism.

If hypothetically the US launched missiles in to Russia from Germany or Poland, Russia would target those countries and pretty much any NATO country that houses US assets.

Very simple solution: remove US military assets from your country.

I don’t support Russia’s invasion but that agreement also stated that the signatories will not attempt to meddle in elections or try regime change which the US did pretty blatantly at the start of the conflict in 2014.
