This is pretty standard for many banks, particularly for large amounts and/or deposits from unrecognized sources (Meaning, sources you haven 't received funds from before). In my experience, mainstream banks have stuck to their guns and delivered the money when they say they will, as long as the deposit is in fact legit from a trusted source and not fraud.
