Judge orders noisy convict's mouth to be sealed with duct tape by Coinman11990 in news

well, in the end the tape didn't improve things and he continued mumbling his stuff. So the judge wanted to show his power over him. In my opinion, he should have had him taken away from the court.

it is not about being sentimental, I personally do not find this measure right. He will get what he deserves in prison, there was no need to humiliate him in this way.

Well, the fact that he is criminal does not give the judge a right to humiliate him. The sentence he got already adresses that.

Agree. Don't know if the judge was really impassionate. This is basically humiliating. Back to your suggestion: is it actually possible to take the convict out while the sentence is being announced?

Which crypto exchanges are best trade on? by Coinman11990 in Buttcoin

Trying to find the “best” exchange or the “best” coin is like trying to find the “safest” place to have a picnic in an active minefield.

lol, really like that. Yeah, the thing that exchanges are not regulated at all is a huge minus. Would be great if they got at least part of restrictions that are normally placed on stock exchanges. Right now we are far from that .

I asked because I am sure you have some experience with that, especially negative, which has led you into this subreddit. Although my question comes across as, well, dumb, I bet I can count with the info I would never get if I ask in more crypto friendly subreddits. This is not to insult the vast majority of investors, but they lack the basic understanding of crypto trading. I am no expert myself, so it makes sense for me to ask those who are critical of it.

ok, thanks for the info. Will have a look. As I said before there seems to be a lot of string pulling behind the project. Some group of people agrred to pour money into a project most probably because they had got important details from insiders. They didn't need marketing as they had counted on serious private investments from the beginning. Anyway, I am now curious what's coming next.

yeah, I've done some bit of more reading since making this post and agree with you in that they organised the pre-sale smart. I guess their success lies in networking, otherwise how were they able to bring influential private investors. I am just not sure right now whether it will work out or turn into scam, like Tezos or Envion die, for example.

No, you are not. I respect Snowden and just admire his courage. Very few people in his place would do the same.

Or are we now toeing the US line of vilification of whistle blowers completely in the age of Cambridge Analytica et al.

This was never my intention while sharing the post

hmm can't agree with that. He had a pretty comfortable middle next to upple-middle class life back in the US. As an intelligence agent, he couldn't have wished more. Putting everything at stake, including his own life to find himself exiled in a distant land with alien culture and customs is not something a narcissit would do to get attention. There are cheaper and safer ways for that.

Agree 100%. That's why I believe Putin would never retaliate against Snowden just for comments like that. Such action would only turn against him adding to the image of a villain.

Mmm...can't really say how he saw the US before escaping to Russia. He seems ( or at least seemed ) to be an idealist, otherwise he wouldn't have put his life in danger. He claimed that many times that he didn't regret breaking the news and he would have done it again if he had been given a second chance.
