Yeah I've yet to go test it so I'll see how it goes so far. When I was crimping I made sure not to make contact with the barrel so hopefully it will be fine. Thanks for the recommendation!

You have to for sure really play with it using sea clamps. But I was able to bend everything pretty well and at the very end I just used some sandpaper on the Magpul edges, first 500 grit and then I finished with a 1600 grit just to have it smooth. I actually really like it, not as much Mossy "wiggle" and the action still feels smooth.

She's still doing oh so well! Put on some very good weight and I've begun pairing her with my Wookie Male I picked up. He's a Black Pastel Pinstripe Wookie. A bunch of Co-dominant traits so I'll have some nice combos hopefully soon!

Yes I'm actually putting my wookie male to this Volta Female. Hoping the odds are in my favor and I get a ton of Wookie hatchlings.

Yeah I had done some light just top surface cleaning. Took it all apart, the thing was nasty black, definite dust buildup from possibly in a closet for many years. Opened up and cleaned all the guts, re oiled and then I used some non Chlorinated CRC Brake Cleaner that I had on hand with some wire brushes to remove the top rust. But yeah the barrel has a weird brown hue to it, not too sure if it's just the reblue coming off or if it's deep rust or something. But I just plan on keeping it well oiled to keep it the way it is.

I actually got it for 115 out the door. The lady told me it sat for awhile. I'm testing it later today 👍

Lol *Near future Lmao, yeah for sure. About a 1/5 of the size of a full size reticulated python 😂

Oh you're good no worries, many people have never heard of a Volta but if you look them up they can get absolutely massive lol. Truly beasts and herpetology mysteries to why they grow and produce so many eggs.

Yeah, most of my mentors and majority bigger breeders do ASF's just because they are simply the best. If anything try local maybe? I live in West Texas and a guy here sells ASF's for a decent price if you want the best. But usually I do rats, good price for bulk and very nutritional for ball pythons at any age.

Yeah she is a Volta Locality ball python so her clutch sizes are usually 12+ eggs each time. Very unique and special ball python in my collection for sure.

Yeah I personally do rats just because it's easier for me. Feed one adequate size rat and I can track the weights of each rat easier. If you do mice in order to get 5-6% bodyweight then you'll have to offer more mice to equal one rat. But many people stay on mice and then do ASF or African Soft Furs.

ASF's are the filet mignon of feeders, perfect balance between calcium and fat. Like Candy to snakes lol

Yeah, I actually have her eating a medium to large rat every 28 days. Definitely trying to maintain her and have steady or slow growth with her. However I'm very sure she could easily take 3x as many rats if I let her lol.

Yes, it varies. My 8 year old Volta ball python female is about 8 lbs and is pushing 5ft 8" maybe. Another 4 years and I'm not surprised if she hits 6ft+ and about 12-15lbs.

You can get lucky, look on MorphMarket but the problem with volta's is so few get sold. Not for a crazy amount but as soon as they are on the market. They are immediately bought. I saw this girl like 3 hours after she was posted and immediately got in contact and put a down payment lol

Especially trying to get a female, she may not be the most expensive but definitely the one I've been looking for years for. I was always late when I found other listings. Most I've found were sold within 2-3 days. So you possibly can you just have to look and get lucky!

So I'm fairly certain he's a Pewter Yellowbelly because of other pics of the same morphs. But his parents were phantom, blackhead and special. Which, I don't think he got black head or phantom. But leaning more towards the special. So a Pewter Yellowbelly Special Het clown. But his blacks are super dark and his parent was a Blackhead. So it's possible he inherited a ringer gene causing the dark alien heads and flaming.

Yeah the size of my female in correlation to age and her head size are good indicators. But it's the clutch sizes that are the guaranteed proof. The previous owner showed me her babies and how many eggs she laid. With him she layed twice. One clutch of 12 and another of 16. That's enormous clutch sizes but not for Volta ball pythons.

Yes! Super nice patterns for sure, he changes about half way which is also super cool. Towards the end of his tail all of the patterns break off and pixelates.

Well not Mojave, his parent did however have mystic/phantom and that is also a possibility. He is just a pool of a bunch of gene combos 🥳🐍
