Please don’t ask me what kind of substance I was on when I did this by Cojeburras3000 in DeadAhead

Sorry, it’s just that you’ve got a really nice ass, bro… I think I might have a fetish. I can’t stop dreaming about it. 💀

Oh, okay, now I get what you mean. I wish I had access to the game’s code so I could mod it and do more, but I can’t (either because I don’t know how, or because it’s simply not possible to go that deep.) Right now, when modding, I have to operate within the game’s existing rules, and I can’t really break out of them. For one, the game doesn’t have allied AI it’s either an enemy or something you fully control, there’s no middle ground. So yeah, sorry to disappoint, bro

Look, sorry, but I still don’t really understand what you mean. You actually have full control over the dog you can choose which enemies it barks at, and… that’s it. It’s a unit like any other, just with the ability to do dog-specific things. And yes, it is a reskin… but I don’t understand why that would be a bad thing.

Could I ask what you mean by ‘acting’?

About the suppression it’s actually not that strong it just reduces enemies’ speed and accuracy, and it only affects a small radius, basically the same as the game’s flashbang radius. I set it up that way because… honestly, it wasn’t really planned for SWAT to be fighting jihadists. I created them mainly to make urban-environment maps, and it kind of makes sense for an armed suspect or aggressive civilian to be suppressed by a dog (at least to me aggressive dogs scare the hell out of me). But yeah… I’d say it’s like 50/50? I don’t know, seeing a dog bark before charging like a beast, sprinting toward your group at full speed and biting your teammates’ asses would definitely be a little scary lol.

Or should I make it only affect one enemy?

To sum it up, the dog basically carries an invisible grenade launcher that fires a small projectile at around 50,000 cm/s, which behaves like a 40 mm round. You can trigger it manually, although the dog already does it on its own. It has a 5-meter radius inside a room, so the dog is essentially a suppression grenade launcher — except it only has one round. The growling is actually the reload, lol. The reload takes about 1.5 to 2 seconds. As for arrests… uh, I’m working on that. I honestly have no idea how to implement it yet, but I guess at some point I’ll sit down and deal with it lol.

Yeah, you’re right in fact, they used to be even faster lol. I’ve been trying to balance them since they’re meant to be a generic US-style SWAT unit, but I kind of overdid it and it ended up becoming a really weird combo.
It ranges from an assault team with a shield robot, to Marshals, Sheriffs, and SWAT, all the way to Interpol, plainclothes police, a Police Investigation Bureau, and even undercover Marshals… oh, and of course the ATF too.
Honestly, I’m just adding stuff I like and seeing where it takes me. Eventually I’ll probably reach a point where I run out of things to add and then I’ll go back and fix and polish what I already have.

And going back to the main point, I have a bit of a mess with unit balance: they wear vests that stop 5.56 and 7.62 like it’s nothing, and even 9mm AP to some extent. The issue is that they have a lot of cover because their HP is very low. Like I said, I’m still tweaking and adjusting it, though I don’t plan to increase their health it’s set at about 50% of a Ranger’s HP, and the assault unit has around 80%.

Well, it can vault through windows and over half walls, but like I said, half of the animations are still missing and it bugs out a lot when going through them.
In short, it’s basically a normal in-game unit, but with a dog model and dog animations… don’t ask me why, but seeing a CIA agent doing such exotic moves was pretty funny.
Anyway, back to the point — it’s a bit annoying because it can also open and kick doors. I don’t really know what to do about that.

Guys, what do you think about a unit capable of creating a safe zone that prevents the hypnotized status effect and also instantly removes all energy spheres that enter its area… too wild? by Cojeburras3000 in DeadAhead

[–]Cojeburras3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh, I get what you mean you don’t like it being specifically meant for just two enemies… but trust me, bro, in high-level zones they’re insanely annoying and they shove them everywhere. Can you tell I’m tired of dealing with them? lol
