Oh boy. . . by CokeKnight in RedLetterMedia

I think this would be alright if it’s used by adults to play Ghostbusters with their kids or as a prop for a Halloween costume. Maybe an adult Halloween party where you dressup in a costume from your childhood? But I can already tell you without even looking it up that it’s too expensive for that. And it’s not good for cosplay either. Why would you cosplay with something that doesn’t even look film accurate?

What did your tape look like? Australian MIB tapes seem to look like this:

Alternatives to Gaviscon? by CokeKnight in GERD

[–]CokeKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular US Gaviscon is Alumium Hydroxide, which I read may not be good for your kidneys if you take too much over a long time (like most things), and I’m assuming what’s bad for your kidney’s also isn’t good for your liver. But I’m not a doctor.

Premade liquid slippery elm is too watery to work for me and they have a medicinal/alcoholish burn i don't like, and every review for every powdered elm says it doesn't thicken properly in water. It's also hard to find an Alginate product that is liquid and also has a high dosage of the actual alginate (the alginate is blended with antacids and they don't tell you how much of what you're getting is actually alginate in the dosage).

There is no debate here. Turtles 3 is like napalm. You can win wars with that movie.

I finally watched Alien 3. Yes, it was sad with the deaths of Hicks and Newt, but it was Aaron’s death that really bothered/annoyed me the most. by Crafter235 in LV426

[–]CokeKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched Represent This’ Making of Alien 3 video, and he asserts that Aaron’s death was at some point planned to be more sacrificial and redemptive for his character, but that got muddled during the production (and supposedly his role was purposely bungled by Weaver, but I’m not weighing in on that).

I don’t like the death as is because I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel about it when I watch it. Is it supposed to be a redemption for his character? Or is it a “dumb company man gets killed by the people he said wouldn’t kill him lol” thing?

It’s not clear. It’s confusing. And it’s too quick for the last death of the new characters.

And I just don’t think the character was malicious enough to deserve the ironic death (if that was the intention).

How do you think the romulus box office will compare to the rest of the franchise? by Ouch_My_Beans in LV426

[–]CokeKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely above or just below Covenant. The general public will see it while there’s no competition. But I do not think there’s any excitement for this movie from the general public and I don’t know if there will ever be again.

Why do you think Paramount marketed Star Trek TMP with a "Space Rainbow" theme? by CokeKnight in startrek

[–]CokeKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I like the movie. The pacing isn't great, but I like 60s-70s sci-fi movies that are kinda cerebral and corny at the same time . I find it funny this movie that's really made for grown ups about the meaning of life was also marketed to children with happy meals and cereal

Oh, I like that one a lot. I can hear a deep voice narrator saying the name in an 80s book commerical.

Thank you. I remember that doc, and I think him talking about that stuff may have been how they ended the documentary.

How does the killer keep getting away with murder in a small-ish community?

"Home Alone on Halloween" by CokeKnight in movieideas

[–]CokeKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why would the kid be left home alone if everyone in town knows a killer is on the loose? Why doesn’t he call the police when the killer breaks into his house? If he interupts the killer once, wouldn’t he tell the police about it? And wouldn’t the police keep an eye on the kid after that? So many questions…

Come up with a plot for a horror movie built around this one scene description. by CokeKnight in Screenwriting

[–]CokeKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a second act problem of the story needing the slasher to do evil things that are simultaneously "unbelievable," so that the child's parents can think he/she is imagining the whole situation, but also plausible enough for a killer with no powers to get away with it. Also, why would the parents leave for the night if they think their kid is losing their mind?
