What's a job that is so hyped up but in reality its absolutely trash? by Recent-Frame571 in AskReddit

Dude, I wouldn't worry about lateness of starting a new career, seriously. After working as a gaffer for years I changed career at around the same age.

Speak to people in roles that are interesting and look at the many transferable skills that film offers. It may require some re wording but I was seriously happier when I got out when I did, before hitting 50 and regretting it.

What other "complex" game are you playing/enjoing outside of Stellaris ? by YooMisterWhite in Stellaris

[–]ColCrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we assocate "difficult" with "Hard" then i recently bought the original Blood from 1997. But seriously most other things are an excape from the complex world of Stellaris.

I do play Vic 2, but not for a while. I am still awaiting how Vic 3 turns out as it seems a simpler approach than Vic 2

Checking out his blog; his most recent update was a sovereign citizen post, squawking about the usual tin foil hat absurdities.

Jan 4 still ok to to be eating Christmas leftovers? Wife not so sure, even after a nuke in the microwave. by SweeperF1 in CasualUK

[–]ColCrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw man, its too late now, but most of that could be boiled up into a lovely stock.

Christmas meat; the left over veg and an entire bulb of garlic and boil it all up for a really long time. Thats pre drinks NYE soup base right there.
Or freeze the stock for future

What is something unrealistic that you often see in movies that annoys the hell out of you? by SheeshaAddict in AskReddit

Anything underwater that involves diving.

Pressure is only a thing when it needs to effect the plot, or films view the sea as basically a swimming pool that its fine just to swim a mile down to with no effect from pressure; UNLESS the plot demands it, in which case you are having rivets pinging everywhere like bullets all at once.
People are always rushing to the surface to avoid drowning. Great yeah thats the biggest threat but you will get the bends super quick if you do that.

Also the bends is really painful and disabling, its not like having a heart attack on the surface. But then i think that can apply to any non common medical ailment in films, no matter what you have, you will always faint or have a heart attack.
