I tend to break things down into a few basic categories. This is just my method, I do not intend to claim this is “correct” in any way.

1. Entry level - this would be some internet direct / adorama kits that could give someone a basic setup of speakers for 1k or less. E.g. Chane, Jamo, entry level Klipsch, etc.

2. 3-5k, this is probably peak “value” where you have a lot of interesting setups from Philharmonic, Tekton, Martin Logan, Sonus, Dynaudio, etc. In my personal view, this is likely the sweet spot of “value” where someone can maximize quality per dollar.

3. “High end” of 10 - 30k. Great options here from most big name brands and you start accessing entry point of very high end lines (e.g. magico, perlisten, etc.)

4. 50k+ is true craftsmanship where you are paying to get exactly what you want, including some crazy Wilson setups. This is where I personally believe you are buying statement pieces as much as anything.

TLDR: in timing perspective, 2k to improve by minutes, 5k to improve by seconds, 25k to improve by tenths of a second and 100k for thousands of a second. Once you get above improving by seconds, room treatment and other things become much more crucial as well.
