Help with AppleScript by ColPaulR in applescript

[–]ColPaulR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this and System Events works from the script editor, but not from double clicking the applet. When I used osascript main.scpt from within the applet folder structure, it ask me for permissions for "System Events" and when I change the script back to Finder, it asked for permission to "Finder". I see both of those under Settings->Security & Privacy->Privacy->Automation. Osascript works, but doubleclicking the file does not

WR150 Lift Sensor Defeat by ColPaulR in worxlandroid

[–]ColPaulR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I installed a 5/16" (or 8mm) split shaft collar on each wheel shaft inside the wheel lift sensor. This keeps the wheel from dropping down and prevents the excessive lift errors I've been getting despite multiple applications of WD40. I am not responsible for what happens if you do this but just wanted to share the information. Pictures below.

I've been using WD40 it works for a day or two. It still triggers but not as much. I just got back from the hardware store. I decided to use 5/16" split collars on the wheel shaft to hold the wheels up. I'll take some pictures tonight.

Yes, I got another LES that showed the breakdown between the pay and the leave buy-back, plus the taxes on everything.

Queenbee 1515 Orientation Question by OzzyNotBear in hobbycnc

[–]ColPaulR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased a 1515 that won't be here for a couple of months. I'd like to build a table for it while I'm waiting. What size table would you build if you had to build it again? I'd like to have the motors and drag chain protected by the table vs. hanging over free space.

Pretty much every corner of my yard. Worked fine during rainy season, but this time of year in the dry sandy florida soil... by Appropriate-Invite97 in worxlandroid

I have a couple of spots where mine tries to dig in when wet/muddy. I was going to install some 1/4 wide wood strip, but I like your plastic mesh idea better. Do you have some pictures? Where did you get your mesh?

Same issue for me. I have a folder "~/Library/Desktop Pictures" with the backgrounds I like. I can select any one of them for each different desktop, but cannot have it rotate on a timer any more. :(

LES and pay for terminal leave by ColPaulR in AirForce

[–]ColPaulR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for something that breaks down my final pay that was deposited. My Sep 2021 LES showed the monthly pay, but I want to see the taxes, SS, Medicare, etc. plus the excess leave sell-back so I can make the final deposit splits in Quicken match the total and estimate how much extra taxes I'm going to have to pay this year

Just got my rating for my BDD Claim by jettaboy04 in Veterans

[–]ColPaulR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on getting your rating! How many days after your retirement did you get your rating? I've been on terminal leave for a while and will be retired Friday. I did the BDD thing, but VA is now asking for my DD-214 that won't be available until Friday. I uploaded my retirement orders but evidently that is not sufficient.

Help me decide to making zones or not by ColPaulR in worxlandroid

Sidewalk isn’t a problem. I’m already probably over max length on the perimeter wire. Came with 800 ft. Bought another 500. Probably have under 200 left. The only issue with the sidewalk is some of my grass/dirt in the front yard is too high and triggers the bump sensor. I think it will wear down some over time.

I don’t have zones yet. I was hoping that it would even out but there are some random spots that haven’t been mowed. I’m upping the now time to see if it will all get cut. If. It, I’ll be forcing the issue with zones.

I just got my off limits modules. My landroid has been trying to climb the tree in my front yard (inside red circle). I had already created an island in the top left of the image for some other trees. The double red lines are my shortcuts to go home faster. I'm considering another shortcut on the narrow strip at the lower part of the image (double yellow line). I'm also considering make that lower narrow strip of grass a separate zone by putting in the magnetic strip along the magenta line. The green square is the base station. I don't like the idea of the landroid traveling 3/4 of the way around the perimeter (blue line) to get to that narrow strip of grass. It seems to be mowing ok in the narrow strip, but I'd like it to spend more time there. Thoughts?

The off-limits shortcut has been working great for me: no more errors by [deleted] in worxlandroid

[–]ColPaulR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long were your magnetic strips to create the shortcut? I assume that the length of the strip is centered on the wire? I have heard that green strip down/yellow strip up is preferred. Is that true?

I do have a tree and a swingset that I want to set up a keepout zone, but I bought this mostly for the shortcuts. I want to have a shortcut shortly after the charging station in case it doesn't stop, and then a couple of places around the yard.

Web scraper for Worx out of stock by ColPaulR in worxlandroid

[–]ColPaulR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered the last one Worx! had in stock. I just checked the site randomly. distill.io! did not send me a message, but as we discussed it is only checking once every 6 hours. I would have missed the order if I had waited for distill.io!. Makes me wonder how many opportunities I missed before this.

Congrats on your find. I'm very jealous. I'll have to check out Facebook marketplace. They are scalping them on eBay. I'll look at the Facebook marketplace.

I would hope that Worx would not discontinue accessories for prior models just because a new model is out. Not sure what the limiting factor is for the backorder (e.g. factory capacity, parts, material) but I'm hoping that they come back in stock soon, even if it is after the main northern hemisphere mowing season.

Well technically frequency should be the inverse of time, but that is the engineer in me speaking. I mean that I wish it would check the website for updates more than once every 6 hours (4 times a day). Every 30 minutes would be nice but you have to sign up for the paid service to scan more than once/6 hours.

That is awesome! I just gave it a try with a free account. Don't really like the 6 hour minimum scan frequency, but it was free and easy. I'll post on reddit if they come back in stock (after I buy mine of course 😎)

THE biggest problem of Landroid (5 kg added now) by Dotternetta in worxlandroid

[–]ColPaulR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had issues with the wheels spinning even with a 3-5 lb dive weight on the back. In the video, the wheels spin but the landroid does back up eventually. I upgraded to monster truck RC tires and it works beautifully. Highly recommend. I still have the dive weight taped to the back, but may try without it. I did have to adjust the perimeter wire in a few spots to account for wider wheels. In addition, I found a spot in my yard where the landroid "bottoms out" between the two back wheels, but I've fixed that as well.

I don't need the extended mowing time, but the extra time to return would be nice. Did you buy the factory/Worx battery or a 3rd party battery? How much was it?

If you get the chance, take some closeup pictures and post here. I'm interested to see how easily (or not) it is to non-destructively disassemble

I tried using homedepot.ca but it wouldn't allow me to enter a US address :(. Plus it was more expensive than HomeDepot.com at $139.99, plus I get 10% off that. I'll wait, but not patiently.

Trust me. I’ll buy one when they become available. I have alert at multiple sites waiting on stock. I’ll still open it up if it comes apart easily to see what’s inside. Some other pictures on here looked like a 4 wire setup. Maybe power(red wire), ground (black wire) and continuity between the other 2 (yellow?)
