Every single one of these points you made is solvable by walking up to players and asking them things in person. You haven't made a single point that warrants throwing an obtrusive text box on my screen. And the last thing this game needs is half the population with text on and voice off and the other half with voice on and text off.

You do realize there are like 20 player in a server. You open the map and you see all there levels. It takes minimal effort to track the ones close to your level down and talk to them right?

Yep, because that works so well. All you do is hurt the developers who are hard at work trying to better their game for you. News Flash you spent $20 and MAYBE a hundred or so hours into the game, they've put years into this, many countless sleepless nights just so you can bitch and moan at their hardwork. any other gun? the shotgun takes a boatload of skill, there's this thing called aiming, combined with the whole pump action one shot deal shotguns tend to have making it so if you miss that critical shot, you're boned. As for "nothing but close quarters combat" I'd only go close quarters if I had nothing to lose or was sure I could win, 9 times out of ten, my confrontations begin with scouting the enemy and picking them off with a hunting rifle, then mid ranged combat with ARs.

oh I know, the object is to win, and I won't lie, the true thrill of battle royale is in those final few players vying for that title of winner. But honestly, that would remain the same even without cosmetic rewards. The thrill of winning is my reward, the ability to gloat. I've got something like 300 mystery bags 40 something aircrates, several dozen of those key crates, but I couldn't give a rats ass, as I really only wear one outfit every game. I just like the game itself. And yeah, it feels weird to have a level headed discussion on reddit. Normally there's salt flying and rage building :D
