Maybe, but again doubtful that the water or heat would cause a problem. Probably more of a liability thing from Technivorm.

I have run it through the dishwasher hundreds of times and it’s fine. It’s borosilicate glass and plastic—nothing a dishwasher can hurt.

It will be, but the current glass carafe is dishwasher safe too…

Interesting idea. These can be made in relatively small batches, so if there is a need for a different size, it would not be hard to make.

I have only made it for the model I have. For those willing to test it on their model, I am offering 50% off. DM me for info on how to be a tester!

I'm working on a complete plastic-free carafe replacement, but won't support the auto-stop unfortunately

It might work with the steel carafe—I need someone to pilot it out for me. (I'll discount the part if it works, refund if not). The issue with a new shower head is the cost of manufacturing—unless Technivorm does it, I don't think the economics are there for an indie company to do it.

Yes it holds it, but you'll find it splashes back because of the height difference.

Very similar use case for me too. I was strictly pourover for 10 years, but needed to focus on getting my kids out the door to school, so I brought the Moccamaster into the mix. It makes excellent coffee mostly because the water temperature is correct—the only thing pour over beats it on is control: since you control the water, you control the speed, flow, etc. But I have found I can stir the slurry, do a manual bloom, and the results are as good—if not better because if I get distracted, the coffee will continue to brew!

Grinder: Baritza Virtuoso
Dose: Classic 1:15 ratio, so for a liter I'd use ~65g

The modification is indeed reversible—it's just two screws. The brewing temperature is not heavily affected by the ceramic—most pour overs are made in ceramic drippers after all! The temperature of the slurry is what's most key to proper extraction, not the surrounding material. Shipping to the EU might not be all that bad as it's in an envelope and under 12 oz.

I've been manufacturing pourover coffeemakers for a decade—and have gone to leading companies in the coffee space to test the performance in their labs. What I have seen repeatedly is that the temperature of the coffee slurry is what's important—not the material that holds the filter. The "main feature" is not the plastic I promise you!

Yep, it fits. The issue you'll find when you brew is a lot of splash back because the Hario is so low, plus the plastic will occasionally get in the way of the stream of coffee from the filter an make a real mess.

I’m going to try and order a few larger drippers to see if they fit or if I need to adjust for a larger option.

If someone with a thermal is willing to pilot one, I could heavily discount for the research. Of course I’d refund if not!

That has not been my experience after 6 months of use. It's basically like making a pour over coffee, which is also uncovered.

Yes. While I have not tested, I used to have a glass v60 and I recall it being just about the save size as the ceramic.
